The trailer for Rachel Zegler’s ‘Snow White’ just brought the author to life because it was “so unexpected, beyond imagination, magical and difficult to understand”

Live-action update, mired in PR nightmare, draws funny feedback on YouTube

That’s a huge relief for Team Disney. The Mouse House bumped the film’s release from March 2024 to March 2025 following production hiccups, the Hollywood strikes and self-induced PR nightmares.

It started with Snow White herself, Rachel Zegler, trashing the source material as dated and hopelessly unwoke. The digital backlash proved swift and furious.

Next, a leaked set photo revealed “dwarfs” who looked average in height, inspiring more online mockery. Disney went back to the drawing board, creating CGI dwarfs to replace the actors in question.

Now, finally, the official “Snow White” trailer is here. And YouTube viewers have some thoughts.

The trailer for the film, directed by Marc Webb and written by Greta Gerwig, is a competently assembled teaser. The film’s box office potential shouldn’t be damaged by it, but online users haven’t forgotten the film’s brutal pre-release journey.

Some snarked that Disney’s PR team would shutter the comments section to prevent exactly the kind of feedback the clip generated.

How long can Disney keep this comment section on ?

Others mocked that Gal Gadot, the gorgeous star of “Wonder Woman,” would be considered less comely than any other starlet.

Gal Gadot: Magic mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest one of all?
Mirror: You are, your majesty.
Cut to credits.

Others poked fun at Zegler’s prior comments about the source material.

would anyone else agree the CGI is “Weird…Weird…”

Some referenced Zegler’s hateful comments about Trump voters post-election:

Rachel Zegler : “The people need some kindness”

Also Rachel Zegler : “May you never know peace”

Other comments?

Funny how they write “the classic story comes to life” but we get cgi dwarves instead of real dwarves?

I got a feeling that this movie gonna have more comments on youtube than tickets sold.

Disney missed their golden opportunity to do the trend of making the villains the heroes. If the “Evil Queen” was really misunderstood and Snow White was the actual villain, this would have been a good bit of casting. And a new way to “reimagine” the story of Snow White.

They finally did it. They made a movie nobody is going to pirate haha!

I think we were all more excited to read the comments than to watch the trailer itself 😆
