Meghan Markle ‘finding it hard to cope’ without ‘calming influence’ Prince Harry by her side

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been making a number of solo appearances in recent weeks as their hectic work schedules have kept the Sussexes in different countries.

Meghan Markle is finding it difficult to be apart from Prince Harry on their recent solo engagements, according to a source.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been busy attending various engagements alone, with Harry recently jetting off to the UK and South Africa. Meanwhile, Meghan made an appearance on the red carpet at a charity gala in Los Angeles.

Fans are used to seeing Meghan and Harry put on a united front when it comes to their work and some were confused by the change to solo engagements. However, a source has explained the pair have “so much on their plates” that they can’t always work so closely together.

The source said Meghan is doing her best to deal with the change, but admitted it has “not been easy” for her. They said: “She’s gotten so used to having Harry by her side for every big public event and red carpet, and he’s a really calming influence for her.

“Not having him there is difficult.” Speaking to Heat World, the source added: “When she and Harry agreed to this pact, the idea was to try it out and see how it worked, then reassess. But he’s adapted to it so well, it looks like something he’s going to want to stick with.”

The source said Harry has been “in his element” during his tours and pointed to his upbringing in the Royal Family as helping him to adapt. The source then offered a suggestion to Meghan as they encouraged her to attend more events to become more comfortable at them.

The source continued: “Up until now, Harry and Meghan have been such a unit, so it’s a huge adjustment to go without him.”

For Harry’s solo outings, he traveled to the UK for the WellChild awards before heading to South Africa for his Sentebale charity which he co-founded in 2006 with Prince Seeiso. The charity was first created to help young people dealing with HIV/AIDS. Sentebale has now grown to support the youth as they experience numerous challenges involving health, inequality and climate change.

The Duke of Sussex also made a brief visit to New York City. Meanwhile, Meghan was seen posing up a storm on the red carpet at Los Angeles’ children’s hospital gala.
