What Time The Rings Of Power Season 2 Episode 5 Releases

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2, episode 5, is on the way, releasing on Prime Video on September 12, 2024. The streaming service released the first three episodes of season 2 at once on August 29, 2024, and has since continued its plan to put out new episodes weekly on Thursdays. This will continue until the season 2 finale, episode 8, becomes available on October 8th. Going into Rings of Power season 2, episode 5, we are officially over halfway through.

The ending of The Rings of Power season 1 included the big reveal that Halbrand was actually Sauron, and the action has continued ever since. So far in season 2, the Dark Lord has returned to Eregion to begin his deception of Celebrimbor (as Annatar) and to create his titular Rings of Power. In the meantime, Galadriel and Elrond butt heads over the Three Elven Rings, the Dwarves of Khazad-dûm deal with a devastating cave-in, and the Stranger and Nori attempt to content with the barren region of Rhûn. Now, there’s plenty to look forward to when Rings of Power season 2, episode 5 drops.

The Rings of Power season 2, episode 5, will begin streaming on Prime Video on September 12th, 2024, at 12 AM PT and 3:00 AM ET. This has continued to be Amazon’s designated Thursday morning slot for new episodes of its Lord of the Rings prequel series, and the same can be expected for the remaining three installments. Following episode 5, new episodes can therefore be expected at the same time on September 19th, September 26th, and October 8th.

Episodes of Rings of Power have consistently been just over an hour long, with the longest in the series so far being season 2, episode 1, clocking in at 1 hour and 16 minutes long. The next longest are season 1’s episodes 5, 7, and 8, which were each 1 hour and 12 minutes long. Rings of Power season 2, episode 4 was 1 hour and 5 minutes long, so it can be assumed that this upcoming installment will about about the same length.

It’s possible that the episodes in the final half of Rings of Power season 2 could return to the longer end of the spectrum for the series. The existing episodes have spent a lot of time setting up the Siege of Eregion, and showrunners have already teased that this will be a multi-episode event. Additionally, the Stranger is being set up to have some magical confrontation with Rhûn’s Dark Wizard while the Dwarves are doomed to suffer under King Durin III’s Ring of Power. There’s a lot of action left to pack into the rest of Rings of Power season 2.
