If she were alive, what would the mother-in-law Diana think of her daughter-in-law Meghan? Close friends of the late princess share their insights

Tina Brown has written plenty of books about the Royal Family over the years, including a Princess Diana biography, and she’s now shared her true feelings about Meghan Markle

Tina Brown isn’t a fan of Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle might have plenty of fans, but it seems like Princess Diana’s former biographer isn’t one of them.

Tina Brown has previously written books about the Royal Family and her biography about the late Princess Diana became a New York Times bestseller. The journalist has now shared her thoughts on Meghan as she accused her of “getting it all wrong”.

During a bitter rant on The Ankler podcast, Tina told host Janice Min: “The trouble with Meghan is that she has the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world. She’s flawless about getting it all wrong.”

Tina added: “All of her ideas are total crap, unfortunately.” She also took aim at Prince Harry as she accused him of “blindly following” his wife “like a child”.King Charles meets Indigenous community after heckling by senator

Despite Tina’s damning comments about Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex has previously been spoken about warmly by those who know her. Meghan’s former bodyguard Steve Davies described her as a “good person” with a “big heart”.

“She gets a bad rap for being a not very good person to work with, that she was this evil person in the Royal Family,” he said. However, Steve recalled her engaging with people from all walks of life, “working with charities to working with dog walkers and cleaners.”

Steve said he learned one big lesson from Meghan — “give respect to get respect”. He also admitted he “felt sorry for her” when she first joined the Royal Family.

Speaking to In Touch Magazine, Steve explained that the constant attention took its toll on Meghan. “She was paranoid. We had people following us around everywhere we went,” he said

The bodyguard recalled being followed by drones and vehicles and described it as a “nightmare”. The Duchess of Sussex was also denied freedoms she had previously enjoyed.

Steve recalled one instance when Meghan said all she wanted to do was to be able to shop in a grocery store. Steve gave Meghan the permission to go and recalled: “I pushed the cart around the grocery store, and she was putting stuff in it. She really enjoyed that.”

Steve also said people were often surprised by how friendly Meghan is and “what a big heart she has”. While Steve no longer works for Meghan, he admitted he would take on the job again and described the Duchess of Sussex as a good person to work for.
