It’s been nearly one full year since Netflix first took us to Serenity, S.C., and the wait for Season 2 of Sweet Magnolias is far from over.

Based on Sherryl Woods’ Sweet Magnolias books, the drama’s 10-episode first season introduced viewers to three life-long best friends — JoAnna Garcia Swisher (Reba) as divorcée Maddie Townsend, Heather Headley (Chicago Med) as attorney Helen Decatur and Brooke Elliott (Drop Dead Diva) as restaurateur/chef Dana Sue Sullivan — who finally fulfill their collective dream of opening a spa in their hometown.

It’s exactly the kind of feel-good, escapist fare that we desperately need in this hellscape we call “reality.” So, when will we finally get to pour one out with the ladies of The Corner Spa, and what we can we expect when that blessed day comes?

Read on for a breakdown of everything we know about Sweet Magnolias’ second season… so far:

We won’t know #whowasinthecar until the show returns (sorry, Nick!), but we can confirm that all three of the main kids — Kyle (Logan Allen), Ty (Carson Rowland) and Annie (Anneliese Judge) — are present and accounted for on set, so at least we know they all survived.

Not even close. Despite her dramatic exit in Episode 8 (“I’m going home… to people who really love me!”), Noreen will definitely be back in Season 2. In fact, Jamie Lynn Spears is among the actors recently promoted to series regular, so you probably can expect to see a lot more of her this time around.

The chemistry between Dana Sue and Jeremy (played by Chase Anderson, left) may be undeniable, but so is her history with ex-husband Ronnie (played by Brandon Quinn, right). And now that Quinn has been promoted to series regular, the competition is definitely heating up — if it’s not over already.

Then again, Dana Sue might have more pressing matters at hand, especially if Isaac’s suspicions are correct that she’s his biological mother. (If she isn’t, wouldn’t she have instantly cleared that up when he asked?)

And if she is, could the father be anyone other than Sue’s old flame Micah, who just happened to saunter back into her life mere scenes before she was confronted by Isaac? We think not.

Hmm, let’s see… Oh, we haven’t talked about Erik yet! Actor Dion Johnstone is among the lucky trio of actors recently promoted to series regular, so we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in Season 2 — much to Helen’s pleasure, we imagine.
