Royal Experts Claim Prince Harry Is ‘Devastated’ That He Can’t Have ‘His Cake and Eat it Too’

There’s been a lot of talk over the last several months about Prince Harry possibly returning to the U.K. to help out with royal duties after his father, King Charles, and sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton), revealed they had cancer. The problem with that though is no one ever asked him, and the other working royals simply carried on completing their engagements while the two senior royals were out of commission.

However, some of that chatter about Harry rejoining his family has continued despite the fact the king has begun undertaking his duties again while going through treatment and Kate recently announced that she finished her chemotherapy and would be returning to her duties soon. Now, some commentators are weighing in and believe what the Duke of Sussex really wanted in all of this that “devastates” him is that he can’t “have his cake and eat it too.”

Why commentators say Prince Harry is ‘devastated’ over how things have turned out

During an episode of Talk TV, show host Kevin O’Sullivan and To Di for Daily podcaster Kinsey Schofield discussed whether Prince Harry really wants to return to royal duties and what has “devastated” him about the way things are now.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that he wants to come back,” O’Sullivan opined, adding, “He wants what he demanded in the first place that the [late] queen said he couldn’t have. That was he wants his cake and eat it too.

“He wants to be over there in Hollywood making a few bucks out of Netflix or whatever, enjoying the sunshine, and having a life of Riley in that mansion in Montecito. And then he wants to come back [to the U.K.] and cut a few ribbons, open libraries, launch a few ships, and be popular. The queen obviously made it clear you can’t have both.”

Schofield then interjected: “He’s trying to have both. But he is devastated at the fact that the American public aren’t buying him and Meghan’s story. He is devastated that America is wise enough to recognize that these are two grifters. They aren’t peace, love, and happiness.

“When you’ve got The Hollywood Reporter calling you out for the second time in 12 months and you’re ultimate objective is to work in the entertainment space, you’re in trouble … Harry is desperate to get back to being loved.”

Schofield is referring to a recent story published in The Hollywood Reporter titled “Why Hollywood Keeps Quitting on Harry and Meghan.”

The publication, which previously named the duke and duchess on its “Biggest Losers” list, revealed that several of the pair’s past employees have described Meghan as “a dictator in high heels” and called Harry “an enabler.”

One person close to the couple explained: “[Meghan] belittles people, she doesn’t take advice. They’re both poor decision-makers. They change their minds frequently. Harry is a very, very charming person — no airs at all — but he’s very much an enabler. And she’s just terrible.”

According to another source, “[Meghan]’s absolutely relentless. She marches around like a dictator in high heels, fuming and barking orders. I’ve watched her reduce grown men to tears.”
