Prince Harry and Meghan Markle warned to stop cashing in on royal name if they want to be welcomed back

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been urged to stop “monetizing” their links to the Windsor clan if they ever want to be welcomed back into the royal fold.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have clung onto their royal titles despite sensationally quitting royal life in 2020.

Soon after settling down in Montecito, California, the duo signed on the dotted line for a series of tell-all projects, each of which revealed bombshell details about the ongoing rift between both camps.

And according to royal correspondent Russell Myers, the Sussexes won’t be welcomed back into the royal family anytime soon if they don’t change their ways.

“Members from the royal family have told Harry, if he wants a relationship with the rest of the family, then first and foremost, he has got to stop talking about them,” he told Sky News Australia.

“They can’t go about making money off their associations with the royal family.

“They’re going to [have to] sort of realize, if they’re going to have a relationship with the rest of the royal family, they can’t go about trashing them,” Myers continued.

Still, he noted that the Firm is very much “united without them” — despite the repeated digs from across the pond.

“Hopefully, they’ll see that the royal family are very united without them, and if they do want a relationship, going forward, they need to take the steam out of their relationship and out of the things they say sometimes,” he added.

Last week, it was reported that King Charles had “directly” asked his estranged son to stop leaking personal details about the royal family’s private life.

Since their trans-Atlantic move to the US, the pair have been conducting themselves as members of the royal family whether it be in business ventures or press projects.

After sitting down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went on to release their six-part Netflix documentary, as well as Harry’s protocol-shattering memoir, “Spare.”

Tensions have run high between both camps ever since, and in a further blow to the Sussexes, the duo were not invited to this past weekend’s Trooping the Colour ceremony.

The couple were snubbed from the annual military parade that celebrates King Charles III’s birthday for the second year in a row.

“I think, when it comes to military matters, Harry has always taken an interest,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Sun, noting that Harry probably “had a feeling of some regret” not attending the festivities.

“We know they wanted an apology from the royal family for the way they were treated when they were senior working members of it. They certainly won’t get that. But I do think there will be a certain amount of regret,” Fitzwilliams said.

As for Markle? Fitzwilliams doesn’t think the event “would mean a great deal” to the former actress.

“I think Meghan would be indifferent to a ceremony like Trooping the Colour quite frankly,” he said. “If it had done, she would have managed to carve a position within the royal family where she could have been of use.”
