NBA fans claim Luka Doncic was edited out of a video by the Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers last month in a shock move
Doncic, 25, was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in a move that rocked basketball.
Dallas fans were left furious with the franchise’s decision earlier this month.
The blockbuster trade caught everybody by surprise – including Doncic himself.
The Mavericks released a new promo video on Friday before the final push towards the playoffs.
The video showed Kyrie Irving signing autographs for fans.
It also flicked to a shot of Klay Thompson running back to defend while celebrating.
That short clip also showed a silhouetted player with a Mavericks logo over his face.
And fans were convinced that it was Doncic who was the edited out player.
One said, “Is that Luka they’re completely censoring??”
Another commented, “This franchise just finds a way to hit a new low day after day. It’s actually impressive.”
A third posted, “Should’ve traded kyrie or klay – what a disappointing team.”
Dallas is 31-27 and eighth in the Western Conference.
The deal to send Doncic to Los Angeles also involved Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris.
They received Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first round pick in exchange.
The Lakers, meanwhile, are fourth in the West and now one of the favorites for the title.
“You can imagine how surprised I was,” Doncic said.
“I was almost asleep.
“When I got a call, I had to check it was April 1st.
“I didn’t really believe it at first. It was a big shock. It was hard moments for me.
“I thought I was going to spend my whole career in Dallas, because loyalty is a big word for me, and I was trying to stand by that.”
