Jalen Milroe’s Last Chance to Prove Himself. His Biggest NFL Audition, The Final Chance, Is Here!

Unlike Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe will be throwing at the NFL Scouting Combine. Milroe will be joined by Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart, while Miami’s Cam Ward remains undecided about his participation, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Milroe is one of the 15 quarterbacks invited to Indianapolis who could benefit the most from working out at the Combine. The Alabama signal-caller had an up-and-down college career, showing both flashes of dominance and inconsistency.

Appearing in 38 games for the Crimson Tide, Milroe only became a full-time starter in his final two seasons, finishing with a 21-6 overall record. Last season, however, was arguably his most challenging.

The transition from legendary head coach Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer likely didn’t help matters, but Milroe’s production dipped. His touchdown passes dropped from 23 to 16, and his interceptions nearly doubled from six to 11—a career-high—as Alabama endured its worst season since 2007.

Given his inconsistencies, CBS Sports’ Mike Renner believes Milroe “may be the only quarterback that works out, and he needs to put up numbers to sell teams on his upside.”

Fellow CBS Sports analyst Ryan Wilson added that Milroe’s Senior Bowl performance did little to boost his draft stock, making a strong Combine showing even more crucial.

“I’d love to see Jalen Milroe come out slinging it,” Wilson said. “He might be one of the 2-3 best athletes at the Combine, but after a ho-hum Senior Bowl week, he could really change the narrative by throwing lasers in Indy and looking crisp in the passing drills.”

Milroe played the second half of the Senior Bowl, completing just 3-of-5 passes for 18 yards while adding three carries for 11 yards. However, he was also sacked three times.

With the uncertainty surrounding the 2025 NFL Draft quarterback class, Milroe’s draft stock is difficult to predict. While he’s unlikely to be considered a first-rounder, ESPN’s Matt Miller sees him as a potential second-round pick.

Teams will undoubtedly be intrigued by Milroe’s size and athleticism, but he still has plenty to prove when he takes the field in Indianapolis.
