With the 2025 season seemingly in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers, attention can already turn to their offseason plans.

While it’s possible the 76ers sneak into the postseason as the No. 7 or 8 seed, superstar center Joel Embiid is already shut down for the season. Philadelphia’s front office could come to the conclusion Embiid is no longer capable of acting as their franchise cornerstone, leading to a major move this summer.

Fadeaway World predicts the Sixers to deal Embiid to the Orlando Magic in exchange for a package highlighted by $224 million star forward Franz Wagner.

76ers Receive: Franz Wagner, Jonathan Isaac, 2025 First-Round Pick (DEN), 2027 First-Round Pick, 2028 First-Round Pick, 2025 Second-Round Pick (BOS or MEM), 2026 Second-Round Pick (DET or MIL)

“Orlando’s defense is already elite, ranking top-five in defensive efficiency, but they lack a dominant offensive anchor,” Fadeaway World’s Eddie Bitar wrote. “Embiid, when healthy, solves that issue instantly. Pairing him with Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs would create a terrifying blend of size, skill, and defensive versatility.”

This would signal a complete shift in approach for the 76ers, as Wagner is only 23 years old and fits the timeline of Tyrese Maxey and Jared McCain much better. Chances are veteran star Paul George would also see a change of scenery in this scenario.

Rebuilding around a trio of Maxey, McCain, and Wagner is appealing on the offensive end, but the right defensive pieces would need to surround them.
