Princess of Wales almost missed her chance to meet Prince William
Kate Middleton had sacrificed her dream only to be close to Prince William.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl has revealed the Princess of Wales almost missed meeting Prince William due to her initial plans to study.
Kate reportedly wanted to study at the University of Edinburgh and she also secured a place there in an art history program.
However, Kate made a sudden decision to switch to St. Andrews University, where Prince William had just confirmed his enrollment.
Nicholl told The Daily Record, “It seemed every girl in America wanted to come to St. Andrews to search out the prince. Kate would have read the papers. She would have known that William was going and that there was every chance they could be in the same program at the same time if she got a place to study there.”
She went on to add that although Kate and William officially met at St. Andrews, they had crossed paths earlier through mutual friends.
“[Kate’s friends] said, ‘Uh-uh, she didn’t meet him at St. Andrews, she met him before she got there, while she was at school during her sixth form through some of her friends. They knew Prince William and Prince Harry, so there wasn’t any meeting.’ And that, for me, it changed everything,” Nicholl stated.
