Meghan Markle has opened up about being a working mother as she made an admission about family life.
The Duchess of Sussex shares children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with Prince Harry. She has recently launched her own lifestyle brand, As Ever, and released With Love, Meghan, her Netflix show.
The 43-year-old has also recently launched her Confessions of a Female Founder podcast in which she talks to businesswomen. In her first episode, she reflected on being a working mother during a conversation with Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd.
Meghan said: “We became moms in this post-pandemic culture where there’s so much more working from home and I wonder if it would feel different. I don’t leave the house to go to an office, my office is here.
“Oftentime, Lilli still naps, she gets picked up early, she naps, and she only has a half-day in pre-school. If she wakes up and wants to find me, she knows where to find me, even if my door is closed to the office, she’ll be there sitting on my lap in all these meetings, with a grid of executives.”

Meghan went on to say she “wouldn’t have it any other way” and “doesn’t want to miss” school drop offs and pick ups with her children. She later confessed there is a stark contrast between her tasks for her children and her work.
She added: “I think what I love most about having young kids in this chapter while I’m building is the perspective that it brings. You’re building something while your child is potty training.”
Whitney joked: “Yeah, you’re like, ‘Hold on, we’re having multiple accidents around here’.”
Meghan replied: “And both are just as important! It’s like, ‘Oh great, where’s the Cheerios, well done’, and then you’re championing your team 10 minutes later about something that is really high value for the world.

“But in your own world that is super high value, and in her world that is super high value.”
Meghan’s As Ever lifestyle brand website went live earlier this month. Her range of products, including $15 flower sprinkles, $12 teas, and $14 raspberry jam sold out almost instantly.
Writing on Instagram, Meghan said: “Our shelves may be empty, but my heart is full! We sold out in less than one hour and I can’t thank you enough…for celebrating, purchasing, sharing, and believing. It’s just the start @aseverofficial Here we go!”
As Ever wasn’t Meghan’s first venture into the lifestyle market. The duchess had previously run a successful lifestyle blog, The Tig, only to close it in 2017, shortly before announcing her engagement to Harry.
Announcing the closure, she wrote: “What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy.”
