Bessie Carter has been a fan favourite in Netflix’s Bridgerton, but now she is set to lead the cast of a brand new drama series about a notorious family.

Bridgerton sensation Bessie Carter is barely recognisable in the first glimpse of her upcoming drama series set to premiere on U and U&DRAMA later this year.

The British starlet, famed for her role as Prudence Featherington in the smash-hit Netflix saga, which unveiled its third season last year, has ditched her signature auburn tresses and Regency dresses for a more contemporary guise in the forthcoming series, which unfolds a century after the Bridgerton epoch.

Carter is poised to headline Outrageous, an enthralling six-part drama recounting the scandalous true tale of the infamous Mitford sisters.

In the role of Nancy Mitford, she joins forces with Joanna Vanderham, Shannon Watson, Zoe Brough, Orla Hill, and Isobel Jesper Jones, who portray her siblings, notorious for their involvement in scandals, treachery, and radical politics during the 1930s.

Newly released stills showcase Carter donning exquisite period costumes that are a stark contrast to the Featherington family’s wardrobe.
