Peter, 37, echoes his wifeâs sentiments, and also reveals to PEOPLE that Bridget was âthe person who came closest to guessing when George would arrive.â He adds that Georgeâs excited big sister âwas also the first person to sing âHappy Birthdayâ to him in the hospital.â
Peter also notes that George was born on his and Vaughnâs four-year wedding anniversary. âThank you, son, for being the reason Iâll never forget to pick up a card for Hillary, when Iâm picking out a birthday card for you,â he confesses.

After 30 hours of labor, baby George arrived safe and sound. âIâm just glad Peter handled our taxes early this year!â she quipped.
Reflecting on this new chapter, Vaughn expressed her joy about becoming a boy mom. âIâm so excited to add âboy momâ to my resume. But let me tell you, thereâs definitely a learning curveânever, ever let your guard down during diaper changes, or youâll get âbaptized!ââ
Georgeâs arrival was made even more special by the reaction of his older sister, Bridget, who just turned two. Vaughn shared how heartwarming it was to see their daughter embrace her new sibling.
âItâs been such a blessing to welcome our son into this world, and itâs just as special to watch Bridget welcome her baby brother George,â she said. âGrowing our family means giving our kids a lifelong best friend. With a new heartbeat in our home, our hearts are more full than ever.â
Peter, 37, echoed his wifeâs sentiments and shared a fun tidbit: Bridget was the closest in guessing Georgeâs actual birthday. Not only thatâshe was the very first to sing âHappy Birthdayâ to him while still in the hospital.
Adding to the serendipity, baby George was born on the coupleâs fourth wedding anniversary.
âThanks, son, for giving me a foolproof way to remember to buy Hillary an anniversary cardâI’ll be grabbing your birthday card at the same time,â Peter joked.
Peterâs father, Steve Doocy, longtime Fox & Friends co-host, also weighed in on the joyful moment, reminiscing about the familyâs anticipation before the birth.
âRight before George was born, we were all on baby watch,â he recalled. He shared a funny moment when he saw Peter reporting live from the White House lawn and suddenly got hit in the head by a dive-bombing bird.
âI woke up my wife Kathy and told her about it. She paused for a moment and said, âWas it a stork?ââ Steve laughed, clarifying, âIt was not a stork. That night Peter went home, shampooed out the bird, and sometime after the cream rinse, Hillary went into labor.â
As a doting grandfather, Steve is already imagining the fun ahead. He confessed that his Instagram feed has turned into a steady stream of videos featuring sweet grandparent moments, slow-motion hugs, and sentimental music.
âBut beyond all the cute videos, what really gets me is the unconditional love between grandparents and their grandkids,â he said. âWhat the kids donât know is, as a grandparent, itâs my job to spoil them rotten for the rest of their lives.â
He added playfully, âI can already picture the conversation: âGeorge, when your parents get home tonight, thereâs really no reason they need to know we had pie and ice cream for breakfast⊠again.ââ
