Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, is set to be a huge hit and a source has said the Duchess of Sussex is planning the ‘perfect revenge’ on her critics.
Meghan Markle is proving she can succeed on her own, away from her ties to the royal family.
The Duchess of Sussex will release her highly-anticipated Netflix cooking show in March. With Love, Meghan was scheduled to air this week, but Meghan chose to delay the show due to the deadly wildfires raging through Los Angeles.
A source has claimed the new series will be the “perfect” retaliation against Meghan’s critics when it airs. The eight-part show, which promises to “reimagine the genre of lifestyle programming,” features various celebrities visiting Meghan for her gardening and cooking advice.
“Meghan feels this show will be the perfect revenge for all her doubters and haters,” the source shared. “She is so confident it’s going to do well and she will get the accolades she deserves for it, which will finally shut some people up. She can’t wait.”
Speaking to OK! Magazine, they added, “She was a very successful actress and has lots of experience in the TV world. She has always been confident in her own abilities and while her confidence took a knock when she was in the royal family, she is riding high again and she’s so proud of this show.”
The series features Meghan’s close pals, including Mindy Kaling. Other celebs joining her are BFF and Suits star Abigail Spencer, former makeup artist Daniel Martin and Delfina Blaquier.
The official teaser says, “Whether Meghan is sharing personal tips and tricks, or taking the opportunity to learn something new, it’s a time for connection.” The show’s surprise announcement raised eyebrows among royal commentators, who anticipated Meghan would opt for privacy following her and Prince Harry’s departure from the royal family.
Since leaving the UK in 2020, Meghan has faced rumors about her “Duchess Difficult” persona and allegations of fueling the rift between Harry and his family, especially his brother Prince William.
With her series poised to be a major hit, however, Meghan refuses to fade away. “Obviously Meghan and Harry will still do things together when the time is right, but at the moment she is focusing on solo stuff and will fight to prove she is a big star in her own right,” the source said.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently released Harry’s documentary Polo, which he co-produced with Meghan and focused on a group of elite professional players. If the viewing figures for the trailers are anything to go by, it’s clear who the public is more interested in watching.
As of last week, the official trailer for Polo had garnered 197,000 views in over a month, while Meghan’s trailer had already amassed an impressive 1.2 million views in just under a week. According to the source, these figures prove Meghan is much more than just “Harry’s wife.”
They added, “Some people think she’s only famous because of Harry, but that’s not true and she’s going back to her roots. People always open up to her because she listens and cares. She knows the audience will warm to her if they give the show a chance.”
