911 Audio Reveals Desperate Rescue Effort After Fatal Alligator Attack In Central Florida

Newly released 911 recordings have provided a heartbreaking glimpse into the frantic efforts made to save 31-year-old Brittany Clark after she was critically injured during an alligator attack in Central Florida.

The recordings capture the emotional moments as Clark’s boyfriend and best friend pleaded for emergency assistance while attempting to guide first responders to a remote section of the Econlockhatchee River at Little Big Econ State Forest. Despite their efforts and the rapid emergency response, authorities confirmed that Clark later died from her injuries.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the attack occurred while Clark was in the Econlockhatchee River with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and her close friend, Jayden Hernandez.

Investigators believe Clark was attacked by a large alligator while the group was in shallow water. Allison immediately attempted to pull her away from the animal while Hernandez called 911 for help.

The emergency recordings document the urgency of those first few minutes.

During the call, Hernandez repeatedly pleaded for responders to arrive as quickly as possible while providing dispatchers with their location and describing Clark’s condition. At one point, she can be heard saying, “Please hurry, that’s my best friend.”

Dispatchers remained on the line throughout the call, providing instructions while coordinating emergency medical personnel and other responding agencies.

Authorities said emergency crews faced the challenge of reaching a remote area within the state forest, where access to the victims was more difficult than at a typical roadside emergency.

While awaiting help, Allison and Hernandez continued providing assistance to Clark.

Officials have not released detailed medical information about the treatment provided at the scene but confirmed that emergency responders transported Clark toward a hospital after stabilizing her as much as possible.

Despite those efforts, authorities said Clark died from the injuries she sustained before reaching the medical facility.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has opened a full investigation into the incident.

Wildlife officers examined the scene and later removed alligators from the area as investigators worked to determine which animal was involved. Officials have emphasized that attacks resulting in fatal injuries are uncommon, although they remind the public that alligators are present in many of Florida’s freshwater rivers, lakes, ponds, and wetlands.

FWC continues reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident and has urged visitors to exercise caution whenever entering natural waterways.

The agency advises people to avoid swimming in areas known to contain alligators, remain alert near the water’s edge, and keep pets away from shorelines where wildlife may be present.

Following Clark’s death, family members and friends have shared tributes remembering her as a compassionate and adventurous woman who left a lasting impact on those around her.

A memorial fundraising campaign has also been established to help support her family with funeral expenses and other unexpected costs during an extraordinarily difficult time.

The tragedy has prompted renewed discussion about wildlife safety in Florida’s outdoor recreation areas.

Experts note that although millions of people safely visit Florida’s parks and waterways each year, encounters with wild animals can occur unexpectedly. They encourage visitors to remain aware of their surroundings and follow guidance issued by wildlife authorities.

As investigators continue reviewing the incident, FWC has reiterated that the findings will help determine the exact circumstances of the attack and inform any additional public safety recommendations.

For Clark’s family and friends, however, the focus remains on remembering her life while coping with the devastating loss captured in the emotional 911 call that documented their desperate attempt to save someone they loved.
