Netflix’s hit romcom show Emily in Paris season four part one premiered on Thursday and fans of one half of the show’s love triangle celebrated online.
One thing that Emily in Paris fans are divided on who they want Emily to end up with.
The Netflix show focuses on Emily Cooper (played by Lily Collins) as she moves to Paris from Chicago to work at a French marketing firm. The show follows her as she balances her work, friendships, and lovers.
Through the previous three seasons, Emily has been in the middle of a love triangle including Alfie (played by Lucien Laviscount) and Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo). She has been dating Alfie, but some fans are hoping Emily will end up with Gabriel this season.
Part One of season four premiered on Thursday, August 15 and fans are already begging for a Gabriel and Emily reunion. “Go for Gabriel [please] #EmilyInParis Season 4,” one fan wrote on Twitter, now known as X.
“Emily and Gabriel are meant to be,” another said. A third chimed in: “Emily and gabriel being endgame is a hill i will die on.”
Then as they watched the show, they realized that they would get their wish. Emily and Gabriel reunited, kissing in front of the Eiffel Towel during this first half of the season.
“EMILY AND GABRIEL NATION WE ARE SO BACK,” a fan excitedly wrote. “STRAIGHT OUT OF A FAIRYTALE,” another penned. Alfie broke up with Emily, which some fans think was best for Alfie.
An X user wrote: “I’m so glad Alfie didn’t buy into Emily’s c— and left the relationship altogether… He deserves so much better, such a sweet man.”
Others were not happy with Emily’s choice, expressing their love for her and Alfie’s relationship. “Team Alfie Alfie Alfie actually he deserves better but justice for alfie.” Another wrote: “WHERE is Alfie why build him up just for him to be gone… more like be gone Gabriel I’m sick of his face.”
Someone else pointed out a possible tragic storyline for this season, writing: “Emily and Gabriel getting together so fast means the breakup at the end of the season is coming.”
But regardless of who Emily ends up with, fans are loving this new season. “Can’t believe im already on my last episode [I] hate u @netflix #EmilyInParis like THIS SEASON IS TOO GOOD TO BE SEPARATED INTO 2 PARTS,” one fan wrote.
