Daredevil: Born Again Ratings Disappoint Amid MCU Decline

As suspected, the two-episode premiere of Daredevil: Born Again doesn’t appear on the Nielsen ratings charts, confirming suspicions that the viewership for the series is low, comparable to Echo and Agatha, among the worst MCU shows on Disney+, alongside Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk.

The first two episodes were released on March 4th. Nielsen has released the ratings for the week that the two episodes were released, March 3 – March 9th.

Nielsen is automatically turned on in your Disney+ accounts and is the industry standard for viewership ratings.

What are the ratings?

As Amazon’s Invincible returns to the charts, after having dropped out, with 465 million minutes at #10, and since Daredevil: Born Again is not listed, that obviously means Daredevil: Born Again came under that number.

Agatha actually did make the Nielsen charts with 426 with its two-episode premiere but we see if Agatha was released the same week as Daredevil: Born AgainAgatha wouldn’t have been listed. Agatha also disappeared from the Nielsen charts but returned with its two-episode finale.

Disney did release official viewership numbers back in March for Daredevil: Born Again stating the episodes drew 7.5 million views in its first five days. Agatha hit 9.3 million views in its first seven days. It’s thought Daredevil: Born Again failed to beat Agatha, so if that is the case, the Daredevil: Born Again Nielsen ratings are somewhere around 426 or lower. We’ll have to see if fans binge-watch Daredevil to see if it ends up making the charts.

Daredevil: Born Again Viewership Worse Than Thought: Below Echo

What does it mean?

Daredevil: Born Again was heavily promoted and had the benefit of being shown first on Netflix; however, quite simply, what it means is that Marvel fans aren’t watching Disney+. They’ve tuned out, and I am guessing have also unsubscribed.

They’re not interested in shows like She-HulkMs. MarvelEchoAgatha, or massive failures like Secret Invasion. You do realize that something like 90% of fans that went to see Deadpool & Wolverine aren’t watching the MCU on Disney+?

Star Wars also didn’t help things on Disney+ with how bad The Mandalorian Season 3 tuned out and The Acolyte. Nobody also tuned in to watch Skeleton Crew.

I’ll also add that it also isn’t helping that Daredevil: Born Again is not a good show. While Marvel retooled Daredevil: Born Again, they didn’t do that good of a job. It’s pretty obvious with the low-production scenes where the reshoots were done. The only saving grace for the series is Charlie Cox. Hopefully, things will start to improve.

New episodes stream Tuesdays on Disney+.
