Actor Josh McDermitt is well known for his roles in The Walking Dead, The Loudest Voice, and Sharkdog. In 2025, fans will get to see him in his latest role as Stuart Lane in the Suits spinoff series Suits: L.A.

McDermitt, Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, and Bryan Greenberg are featured in the first teaser for the series below. The familiar tune “Greenback Boogie,” used at the beginning of each Suits episode, plays during this first look at the new spinoff.

NBC has revealed that Suits L.A. will premiere on Feb. 23, 2025. The legal drama is the second spinoff of Suits, which aired for nine seasons, the first being Pearson. Creator Aaron Korsh will serve as showrunner in the new series, which is set in Los Angeles and takes place after the conclusion of the original series. Korsh will executive produce with David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein, Anton Cropper, Genevieve Sparling, Rick Muirragui and Jon Cowan.

Suits L.A. is one of the network’s most highly anticipated series by fans of the original, which recently saw a resurgence due to its streaming success. Viewers are excited to see what Korsh, who is also the creator of the main series, will do with the new setting and cast. The pilot episode was written by Korsh and directed by Victoria Mahoney, who is known for Yelling to the Sky, which stars Zoë Kravitz.

Amell portrays Ted Black, a former New York prosecutor who 15 years ago, created the Black Lane Law firm in L.A. with his old buddy Stuart Lane, played by McDermitt. The firm’s focus is entertainment and criminal law. Stuart is described as energetic, powerful, focused and self-absorbed.

The official synopsis for Suits L.A. reads: “Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive, he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while we slowly unravel the events that years ago led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

Don’t miss the premiere of Suits L.A. on NBC beginning Feb. 23, 2025.
