Although Freya Allan has been acting professionally for less than a decade, she has already racked up an incredible resume, having starred in The Witcher for half of that time. She also had a small role in the BBC’s The War of the Worlds miniseries, and she starred in the 2021 horror film Baghead. Perhaps her biggest role after The Witcher was as Mae in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

The Lion Cub of Cintra will continue on her path towards her destiny in The Witcher season 4. Ciri will also have a new look this season, possibly involving a new haircut and a tattoo that ties in to the events of Witcher 3 (via Redanian Intelligence). Everyone’s favorite bard will continue to be played by real-life troubadour Joey Batey, whose dark indie-folk band The Amazing Devil has been on hiatus since 2021, likely due to Batey’s shooting and recording schedule for The Witcher. Acting-wise, Batey has also appeared in Knightfall, The War of the Worlds, and The White Queen.

Batey returned as Jaskier in the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin, too, where he served as a framing device for the narrative and contributed the ballad “Song of the Seven.” He will show up in the upcoming anime film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep as well. Jaskier is in a difficult situation in season 4. He accompanied Geralt to rescue Ciri, but his heart is tugging him back to Prince Radovid of Redania, who he became smitten with last season.

Born in Australia, Mahesh Jadu’s career mostly consisted of Australian dramas and soap operas until he landed a main cast role in Netflix’s Marco Polo miniseries in 2014. This was followed up by a voice role as one of the gargoyles in 2014’s dark sci-fi oddity I, Frankenstein. He’ll be back in The Witcher season 4, and his character is poised to be more dangerous than ever.

Anna Shaffer got her start acting at the age of 15, when she was cast as Hogwarts student Romilda Vane in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, a role she reprised in both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She also had a significant nine-season run on the classic British soap opera Hollyoaks, where she played delinquent schoolgirl Ruby Button. She’s confirmed to return as Triss Merigold in The Witcher season 4.

The flame-haired mage has her work cut out for her in the Netflix show’s next outing, especially now that Vilgefortz has the Book of Monoliths. Triss is now a member of the Lodge of Sorceresses, working with Yennefer to consolidate enough magical power to stop Vilgefortz’s plans.

Mimî Khayisa has had an impressive career, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company for several years after finishing her undergraduate work in theater. Appropriately for someone who went to university in Cardiff, she has also appeared on Doctor Who, in the tenth series episode “Oxygen.” She also played all six of the roles in the 2017 short film Dishonour, which won numerous awards at international film festivals for its sensitive look at the intense topic of female genital mutilation.

Cassie Clare has appeared on both the stage and the silver screen, boasting ensemble roles in 2017’s Beauty and the Beast adaptation and 2018’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Aside from musicals, she has also appeared as Mazikeen in Netflix’s adaptation of The Sandman comic book series and Zaquia in What Happened to Monday.

Her Redanian sorceress Philippa Eilhart will continue playing political games in The Witcher season 4 alongside spymaster Dijkstra. This shape-shifting schemer is happy to let the Brotherhood of Sorcerers burn so that she can continue to secure her own power base, making her a consistently intriguing character in the Netflix series.

In The Witcher, McTavish portrays the scheming advisor to Redania’s King Vizimir. Dijkstra will return in season 4, and he clearly plans on continuing to play all sides against each other. His true intention is to come out on top, but whether he will succeed remains to be seen.

His character, Lambert, is one of the Witchers from Kaer Morhen’s Wolf School. He last appeared in The Witcher season 2, when he alternated between helping Ciri and taunting her. Redanian Intelligence reports that he will return for season 4, potentially for flashbacks that will help establish Liam Hemsworth in the role of Geralt of Rivia.

Yasen Atour is a talented actor, producer, and director who also appeared in season 2 of Amazon’s The Rings of Power as the mysterious Gaudrim warrior Brânk. Born in London, he spent most of his childhood in Morocco, where he found an early love for storytelling and performance (via Vanity Teen).

He was generally inseparable from Lambert in season 2 and will be returning in at least one episode of season 4.

Her character Milva is a young woman who trained with the dryads of Brokilon Forest and helped Jaskier and Geralt rescue Ciri from Nilfgaard in season 3. It’s no surprise that she’s returning for The Witcher season 4 (via Netflix), although it will be some time before we see if her fate is the same in the TV series as it is in the books.
