Tom Hardy Hints Venom 3 Might Not Be His Last Outing, Tom Holland Has Been Warned: ‘I would fight him right now’

Tom Hardy wants his Venom to fight it out with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, despite being at the end of his Venom trilogy already.

While Sony’s Universe of Spider-Man characters has yet to debut a Spider-Man, there seems to be a lot of chatter about Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock sharing a screen with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Despite the recent anti-hero streak that Venom has been on, it must be remembered that the character made his debut as one of Spider-Man’s most notorious villains.

While fans have been waiting to see the character in the MCU, interacting with the various heroes and villains of the franchise, Tom Hardy himself is very keen on facing off against Peter Parker in the MCU, as he revealed at New York Comic Con.

Venom: The Last Dance might not be the last time we see the symbiote

While the trailers for Venom: The Last Dance have indicated that Venom or his host might be killed off by the conclusion of the film, Tom Hardy is still pretty hyped about being able to fight Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. The closest the character has come to doing so is in No Way Home, where Eddie briefly existed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At New York Comic-Con, the actor reiterated his wish to have his version of Venom face off against Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man in the MCU. He said (via ScreenRant):

I would like to fight Spider-Man. I would like to fight him right now. In a movie, 100%. I would never say never.

While The Last Dance might be the end of the line for either Venom or Eddie, it is possible that the franchise could simply bench the character until they can be of use. With Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon, it must be noted that the multiverse will probably include Sony’s past takes on Spider-Man. This could also include its universe of Spider-Man characters, which could see Spider-Man face off against Venom after all.

Spider-Man 4 seems to be shaping up quite well

Tom Holland as Spider Man

While No Way Home would have been a tough act to follow, Marvel and Sony seem hard at work when it comes to making the next Spider-Man film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland himself, as reported by Variety, has been privy to a draft of the story, which seems to have the right stuff for a great sequel already. However, Holland also made clear that the draft needed some refining before it became a story that could get the production going.

Spider-Man 4 will likely be a grounded film, given that Spider-Man will need to have consequences for his actions in the Infinity Saga and No Way Home. Fans are also keen on seeing the character interact with other street-level heroes, like The Punisher, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones.

Venom: The Last Dance hits theatres October 25, 2024
