LA court grants Houston’s Megan Thee Stallion a restraining order against incarcerated Tory Lanez

Megan Thee Stallion granted restraining order against Tory Lanez

Megan Thee Stallion says Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has continuously harassed her while he serves a 10-year sentence in prison for shooting her, prompting the Houston native to seek an extended restraining order against the rapper, according to court documents. A California court this week granted her the order of protection for 10 years.

In 2020, Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, was shot in both feet while riding in a car Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson. And after months of rumors and false narratives, he was convicted of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, having a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle and gross negligence in discharging his firearm.

In October, Pete sued Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, known as gossip blogger Milagro Gramz, for “churning out falsehoods” about the Tory Lanez case, sharing a deepfake pornographic video, cyberstalking and accusing the Houston rapper of having a drinking problem.

The new petition, filed Dec. 17 in Los Angeles Superior Court, asked a judge to prevent Peterson from using third parties to continue to harass her online, according to an article by the Associated Press.

“Even now, while behind bars, Mr. Peterson shows no signs of stopping,” the petition obtained by AP states. “Despite being sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Ms. Pete, Mr. Peterson continues to to subject her to repeated trauma and revictimization.”

The petition alleges call logs from Peterson at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi show he coordinated attacks on Pete’s credibility.

Cooper was also included in the petition filed in December.

The lawsuit filed Oct. 29 in Florida by attorney Alex Spiro claims Cooper was “a mouthpiece and puppet for” Peterson.

The petition for the restraining order against Peterson was granted on Jan. 9, court documents show.
