The feud between Prince Harry and the royals rages on, and at this point, it sounds like he doesn’t imagine it’ll end while his father is still alive. One royal expert believes that the Duke of Sussex is waiting for King Charles to die before he sets foot in Buckingham Palace again, and in the meantime, Charles’ funeral plans are rumored to be put into place as the king battles cancer.

Harry and Charles haven’t spent much time together recently.

After they haven’t been able to meet during Harry’s last couple of visits to the UK (with the king blaming his full schedule), there hasn’t been much time for the father and son to mend fences in person, and it doesn’t sound like things are going well between Harry and big brother Prince William, either.

And according to what royal expert Daniela Elser told Australian outlet News.com.au (via GeoNews), William reportedly “has no intention of inviting him to his coronation.”

At this point, Harry may have no hope of reentering the palace until his father’s funeral.

And even then, Daniela believes that it might end up being the last time he enters the palace ever, if William has anything to say about it once he’s king.

“Realistically, the only time that Harry might ever again be allowed to cross any sort of threshold at an actual royal or Windsor family event will be for Charles’ (hopefully many years if not decades from now) funeral,” she said. “After which, I imagine he will be shown the door only to hear it slam irrevocably and finally behind him.”

Things may not be well behind palace doors in other ways, either.

According to what the Daily Beast’s royal correspondent Tom Sykes reported earlier this month, things are already moving behind the scenes for William to take the throne sooner than anyone expected, given his father’s health, and it’s “tearing the royal family apart.”

Reportedly, the ‘planning and positioning’ for William’s reign have quietly begun.

And Tom claims that seeing these wheels in motion means that “the power dynamic has shifted” between William and Charles since he received his cancer diagnosis.

“Executive power and influence is already flowing William’s way,” Tom said.

It may be just as well that Harry stays away from the time being.

If everyone’s as heated as it sounds like they are, there isn’t much chance that any of the royals would be able to have a productive conversation with one another anyway. But hopefully, Harry will find a way to reunite with his dad while he’s alive.
