The Voice Season 27 Just Delivered Its Most CHILLING Battle Round Yet! Who Dominated the Stage & Who Got Sent Home?

Watch the ‘Chilling’ First Battle Round From ‘The Voice’ Season 27

Team Adam’s Britton Moore and Darius J reimagine Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ for their Battle Round.

Season 27 of The Voice begins Monday night with the Battle Rounds! Coaches Adam LevineJohn LegendKelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé pair up two members of their team in a duet to determine which one will make the Knockouts and who will go home – or be stolen by one of the other coaches.

The coaches were assisted this season by their celebrity Battle advisors: Cynthia Erivo mentoring Team Bublé, Kate Hudson counseling Team Adam, Coco Jones assisting Team Legend, and country greats Little Big Town (Karen FairchildKimberly SchlapmanPhillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook) working with Team Kelsea.

The Voice released a sneak peek of Monday night’s episode with the Battle between Team Adam’s Britton Moore (a four-chair turn) vs Darius J (a three-chair turn), who were pretty evenly matched. Watch as the two take to the stage with a chilling version of Radiohead’s “Creep.”

“That was magic,” Kelsea said as part of her review. “I think both of you have a great shot at winning this show. You’re not on my team. It makes me sad. Maybe we can change that. I don’t know. Darius, there’s no one like you. You are just so individual in your voice. All of these little runs and when you fall off of them, it’s just so yummy and it’s so you. Britton, you’re like the boy next door and you make people want to root for you because they feel they can come knock on your door and you’d sit on the front porch and play guitar and sing along. I think you’re both so incredibly special. I really do.”

Then it was Michael’s turn for commentary. He said, “I’m a sucker for entertainers, Darius. I love people who love it. It’s like a chef who loves what he’s cooking, but loves even more who he’s cooking for. That’s what you remind me of. A less swear-y Gordon Ramsay. At one point, I was, ‘Oh, yes, Darius. He’s got it. Of course.’ Britton, you hit that top note, and I was, ‘Oh, no, Adam Levine. What are you going to do?’”

Adam interjects, “Plagued by too much greatness.”

John adds, “An embarrassment of riches.”

Michael continues, “I’m not going to tell him which one of you he should choose because whichever one isn’t chosen, I need to have you in my life.”

Then it was John’s turn to critique the two artists. He said, “Darius, what a presence you are. I thought you made some creative choices with how you styled the song. It really makes you stand out as an artist. Britton, your voice was so connected and powerful. That high note was stunning, and I really enjoyed your tone. It made me want to listen to you, so I would pick Britton.”

That was all the input that Adam was going to get from his fellow coaches, but before he revealed his decision, he shared some thoughts.

“At the beginning of this, we were so far from where we needed to be. When we got together and workshopped what we were going to do, you guys came to the table and you guys executed it so beautifully. I want you to know how proud of you I am. I thought this was a strange pairing because there was a sense of normalcy. Darius, you were a little more off the rails, which I dig. I love what you do [Pointing to Britton.]. I love what you do [Pointing to Darius.], so this makes my decision impossible. The harder you make it for us, the better you did.”

John yelled out, “Y’all killed it.”

Then Carson Daly announced, “The time has come,” and Adam said, “I have to look at the moment that stood out the most for me, because there is no better or worse here” but, of course, we won’t find out until Monday night who Adam picks as the winner of the Battle.

The Voice airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
