Luke Bryan making history with first show inside Fort Myers’ JetBlue Park, more to come

Country superstar Luke Bryan is coming back to Southwest Florida. And this time, he’s making history.

Bryan will be the first major musical act to play a concert inside JetBlue Park’s baseball field — the spring training home of the Boston Red Sox, according to a news release Monday. The Fort Myers concert marks the park’s debut as a major concert venue in Southwest Florida.

“For over a decade, JetBlue Park has been the heart of Red Sox baseball in Southwest Florida, and now we’re excited to expand its role as an entertainment destination,” said Sam Kennedy, president and CEO of the Red Sox, in a news release. “Live music is such a huge part of the Fenway Park experience (in Boston), and bringing that tradition to Fort Myers has been a longtime goal.”

JetBlue has previously hosted big festivals on the grounds outside of the baseball field, including the former Fort Rock music festival. But organizers say this is the first time a major artist will perform inside the field, itself.

“We’re thrilled to have Luke Bryan kick things off,” Kennedy said, “and we can’t wait for fans to be part of what we hope is the start of something special.”

Bryan will perform Saturday, June 14, at JetBlue Park at Fenway South. The show is part of Bryan’s Country Song Came On Tour, which is visiting more than 30 U.S. cities starting in May.

He’ll be joined in Fort Myers by several opening acts, including Conner Smith, Ashland Craft, Adrien Nunez and DJ Rock, according to a Red Sox publicist.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, at RedSox.com/LukeBryan. A presale for Bryan’s fan club members starts at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 1.

The presale is also open to people with a Citi/AAdvantage credit card, starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1. For details, visit citientertainment.com.

Ticket prices haven’t been announced. A Red Sox publicist referred ticketing questions to the concert’s producer, Live Nation. Publicists for Live Nation didn’t immediately respond to an email requesting more information.
