Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been taking on plenty of new opportunities ever since they stepped back from their senior royal roles in 2020. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have focused on a number of business ventures and charitable endeavors, but now, Meghan is using her platform for something a little more lighthearted and personal: Her new cooking show, With Love, Meghan, on Netflix.

The Duchess of Sussex’s show blends lifestyle, cooking, and personal relationships, and while the setting is serene, it wasn’t actually filmed in her Montecito, California, home. Here’s everything we know about Meghan’s $8 million set.

Meghan Markle filmed her Netflix cooking show in an $8 million home

Meghan and Harry moved to Montecito, California, in 2020, and they have made a number of A-list and wealthy friends throughout the last few years. It turns out Meghan’s cooking show is actually filmed in the home of her friends, Tom and Sherrie Cipolla, which sits about two miles away from Meghan’s house. The home is a modern farmhouse type of spot, which seemed ideal for Meghan’s vision and certainly fits what the show offers.

The stunning farmhouse is about 4,500 square feet and sits on five acres of serene land. Realtor.com reports that the home sold to the Cipollas for $4.7 million in 2017 but that it’s worth an estimated $8 million today. The house is bursting with natural light from its tall windows, has a barn located on the property, and is surrounded by plenty of foliage, from lemon trees to avocado trees.

The home also boasts doors that open an entire wall to the outside, offering indoor-outdoor living for that gorgeous California weather. It has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, and it has a very different vibe compared to Harry and Meghan’s home. The Sussexes live in a $14+ million mansion that has more of a Mediterranean feel. The couple’s home is also much larger, featuring  nine bedrooms and a staggering 16 bathrooms.

It’s hard to say how people will respond to Meghan’s new show, as it’s already received mixed reviews without having even premiered. But the Duchess of Sussex might hope to utilize the show to help make her feel more human and normal. Meghan has been working hard to rebuild her reputation since things went downhill for her and Harry while in the royal family.

It seems Meghan has struggled to really resonate with people since moving to the US, so this show could be her way of opening the doors to what she’s really like when she’s not making some kind of scheduled appearance.
