Deadpool & Wolverine Perfectly Addresses The MCU’s Avengers Tower Mystery In New Art

Marvel Studios’ long-running Avengers Tower mystery could finally be answered in Deadpool & Wolverine, according to brilliant new MCU fan art. Phase 5’s Deadpool & Wolverine is expected to reference many incredible moments from the MCU’s history, marking a powerful debut for Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth and Hugh Jackman’s clawed X-Men member. This creates the opportunity for Marvel Studios to answer some of the MCU’s biggest questions, and wrap up some annoying loose ends, and this could include addressing a seven-year-old mystery that began in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Back in 2017, Marvel Studios released a poster promoting Spider-Man: Homecoming which featured Tom Holland’s Spider-Man lying on a wall in front of the New York City skyline, which included Avengers Tower. Since this firmly cemented Spider-Man as a part of the MCU, Deadpool and Wolverine have seen the same treatment in new fan art shared by bosslogic.

While Deadpool and Wolverine throwing Spider-Man off his wall is a hilarious touch, this fan art also features a huge cross, interestingly in the shape of an “X”, drawn over the “A” logo of Avengers Tower.

How Deadpool & Wolverine Can Answer Who Bought Avengers Tower

Since a recent report suggested that Deadpool & Wolverine would revisit major MCU events, it’s possible that the Battle of New York, the Avengers’ fight against Ultron, or indeed Spider-Man’s spar with the Vulture could be seen again in Phase 5. Any of these moments could hint at the new owner of Avengers Tower, the identity of which Marvel Studios has kept hidden since the landmark was sold in HomecomingAnswering this question in Deadpool & Wolverine would be a great way to better-establish the titular mutant heroes as part of the MCU’s main continuity.

While Deadpool & Wolverine could explore many locations in the MCU, the film appears to be primarily taking place in the Void at the End of Time. Deadpool & Wolverine’s first trailers have shown the mutants battling Cassandra Nova in the Void, and this setting presents the chance for Loki season 1’s Avengers Tower mystery to be solved. In Loki season 1, episode 4, “Journey Into Mystery,” the ruined Avengers Tower appeared in the Void as the QENG Enterprises building, suggesting Avengers Tower could have been bought by Kang variant Mister Gryphon.

During an interview with Phase Zero in January, Marvel’s Head of Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, simply stated “yes” when questioned whether audiences would learn the identity of Avengers Tower’s current owner. Theories have ranged from Kingpin to the Fantastic Four, and from Norman Osborn to Mister Gryphon, but Deadpool & Wolverine could finally put this matter to rest. The cross over Avengers Tower’s “A” logo in bosslogic’s art may be hinting at the X-Men having taken over the landmark, which would certainly be an exciting development ahead of the MCU’s official X-Men debut.
