Zac Efron’s chance to enter the MCU may be in the form of Scott Summers’ estranged brother Vulcan.
The X-Men have slowly been taking over the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whether through the upcoming film Deadpool and Wolverine or X-Men ’97. As such, there are many wondering about who would take up the live-action roles as well. One character that fans are eagerly eyeing is that of Scott Summers, aka, Cyclops.
There have been many actors whom fans have wanted to see take up the role. Ever since the Ryan Reynolds film was announced, the possibility of the X-Men expanding has been growing manifolds. So the opportunity of casting the perfect actor for the role of the cheery and energetic Scott Summers is not one fans want to miss out on. While Glen Powell felt like the top contender in their point of view, there is another actor who could take the spot.
Glen Powell or Zac Efron – The Ideal Cyclops for the MCU
As the possibility of a live-action X-Men reboot grows nigh, the fans’ expectations and anticipations are also growing respectively. In the midst of it all, fan castings are also beginning to expand with the same magnitude. As such, many have been eagerly wanting to see Glen Powell take up the role of Scott Summers or Cyclops in the franchise. His charisma, boyish charm, and the ideal energetic yet boy-scout look make him the perfect option for the same.
He may not be the only contender in the fans’ eyes though. Another possible casting choice arises in the form of Zac Efron. While this may seem out of nowhere, there is a possible vision as presented by fans. The audience has seen him grow as an actor, from a basketball-playing theatre kid to a rugged and enigmatic actor.
Despite the choice, he may not be ideal. Compared to Glen Powell, who has the ability to bring a side of Scott Summers that would be both smug and haughty, Efron has a completely different look to him. That is not to say that the MCU doesn’t have a role for him.
Zac Efron Can Play Another Member of the Summers Family
The Summers family is a vast one. With mutants going down a long line, there is room for Zac Efron to play not Scott Summers but perhaps another family member. Scott happens to have not one but two mutant brothers. Alongside Alexander Summers who is more famously known as Havoc comes along Gabriel Summers.
Gabriel Summers’ birth is dark on its own, having been taken out of his mother’s dead body. Unlike Scott’s charming personality, he is more rugged and tough-looking. Vulcan’s ability to manipulate energy at will would make him a great addition to the MCU.
Zac Efron would anyways fit well in the MCU and for him to play a Summers brother and not Scott wouldn’t be too out of the box. He has not just the build but also the acting capability of the same.
