Kristin Cabot, the Human Resources Director at Astronomer, submitted her resignation on July 24, more than a week after she was caught getting intimate with CEO Andy Byron on the “kiss cam” at a Coldplay concert.
“We confirm that Kristin Cabot is no longer employed at Astronomer. She voluntarily resigned,” a representative from the New York-based company told The New York Post. TMZ was the first to report the news.
Byron, who was seen getting intimate with Cabot at the Boston concert, was forced to step down as CEO of the AI company after the affair was exposed on social media and sparked a public uproar.
Cabot joined Astronomer in November 2024 as Chief People Officer (HR Director).
The incident began when the jumbotron at Gillette Stadium unexpectedly focused on the pair, prompting them to panic and duck out of frame. Chris Martin — Coldplay’s frontman — awkwardly remarked, “Oh, what’s that? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just really shy.”
The moment went viral instantly, generating thousands of memes and becoming a subject of mockery across social media, even being recreated at sports events and online platforms. A separate video later captured the two kissing, cuddling, and singing together, further revealing their secret relationship.
Immediately following the scandal, both Byron and Cabot — who are each married — were placed on administrative leave as Astronomer launched an internal investigation.
Cabot is believed to be married to Andrew Cabot, CEO of Privateer Rum. They own a two-story, four-bedroom New England-style home valued at $2.2 million, purchased in February, according to property records. Byron, meanwhile, is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron and has two children.
After Byron’s resignation, Astronomer co-founder Pete DeJoy was appointed interim CEO. On LinkedIn, DeJoy admitted: “This kind of attention is unusual and surreal for our team. While no one would wish for it to happen this way, Astronomer is now a name many more people recognize.”
He also stated that the company intends to turn the crisis into an opportunity and emphasized that Astronomer is ready to face challenges, despite being a small startup in the data and AI space.
As of now, neither Byron nor Cabot has made any public statements regarding the incident.
