You are NOT ready for what just surfaced on a private Damian Hardung fan server and is now spreading faster than wildfire across TikTok.
A full 4-minute deleted scene from Maxton Hall Season 2, filmed but ultimately cut from Episode 5, has leaked online, and it is the most deliciously awkward, heart-stopping, protective-sibling-energy moment the show never gave us on screen.
The set-up: Ruby has reluctantly invited James to her family home in Oxford for the first time since their explosive reunion. What was supposed to be a “casual Sunday roast” turns into an interrogation that leaves James Beaufort, actual heir to a billion-euro empire, sweating bullets at a tiny kitchen table under fluorescent lights.
The scene opens with Ruby’s mum placing a plate of shepherd’s pie in front of James while giving him the warmest, most terrifying smile in British history.
Mum (sweet as sugar, sharp as a knife): “So, James… Ruby’s been home every weekend this term looking like someone ran over her soul. Would that be… you?”
Dad (not even looking up from carving the lamb): “We Googled you. Your family owns half of London and apparently most of the trauma in Ruby’s life. Explain.”
Ruby is frozen, fork halfway to her mouth, eyes screaming “abort mission.”
James, in full posh-boy panic, tries to deploy his usual charm: “Mrs Bell, Mr Bell, I completely understand your concern. I was… not my best self last term. But I love your daughter more than—”
Dad cuts him off: “Love is a verb, son. Start conjugating.”
Then Ember, Ruby’s terrifyingly protective little sister (15 going on 45), who has been silently glaring daggers the entire meal, finally leans forward and delivers the line that has already been stitched, edited, and memed into oblivion:
Ember (dead calm, holding a steak knife like it’s a casual prop): “Here’s the thing, Beaufort. You’ve got the money, the face, the fancy school… none of that scares me. Hurt my sister again and I swear on everything I love, I will make the rest of your life so miserable you’ll beg to go back to boarding school. And trust me, I’m very creative.”
The camera zooms in on James swallowing so hard his throat actually clicks. Ruby drops her fork. Their mum just nods proudly like “that’s my girl.”
James, voice cracking for the first time in recorded history: “Noted. Loud and clear. I’d… deserve it if I ever—”
Ember: “Good. Pass the gravy.”
Cut to Ruby hiding her face in her hands while her dad mutters “finally, someone in this family speaks my language.”
The scene ends with James outside on the front step afterward, lighting a cigarette with shaking hands while Ruby apologises profusely. He pulls her into him and whispers:
“Your sister’s going to murder me one day and I’ll probably thank her for it.”
Fans are losing their minds because:
This would have been the FIRST time we saw James completely stripped of his Beaufort armour in front of people who don’t care about his name or money.
Ember instantly became the internet’s favourite character with a single steak-knife monologue.
The chemistry between James and Ruby’s family is somehow both hilarious and heartbreaking.
Viewers are now rioting in the comments demanding Amazon MGM reinsert the scene for the Blu-ray release.
Harriet Herbig-Matten (Ruby) has already reacted on Instagram stories with a crying-laughing emoji and the words “Ember deserved an Oscar for that day.” Damian Hardung simply posted a photo of himself holding a steak knife with the caption “still having nightmares.”
The fandom has spoken: we were robbed.
This deleted scene single-handedly proves Season 2 could have been 10 episodes of pure domestic chaos and we would have eaten it up with a spoon.
Amazon, do the right thing. Give the people what they want.
Or Ember will find you.
