The wife of disgraced CEO Andy Byron is laying low at the family’s $2.4million Maine mansion while holding crisis talks over her marriage, the Daily Mail can reveal.
Megan Byron, 50, had several family members, including her older sister Maura, rush to her side after footage of her 50-year-old husband canoodling with his top HR exec, Kristin Cabot, at a concert, went viral last week.
She fled her $1.4 million home in Northborough, Massachusetts, and has been lying low at her lavish Kennebunk estate, 106 miles away.
Megan, assistant director of the Hope Graham admissions program and elementary school at Bancroft School, has not publicly commented on her husband’s alleged affair.
But she removed her husband’s name from her social media on Thursday, reverting to her maiden name, Kerrigan.
Joyful family photos featuring Byron and their two sons on Facebook have been deleted, including a smiling family picture from a hiking trip and one at one of the boys’ graduations.
In the hiking photo, the parents and two children linked arms and smiled for the camera in front of a stream.
But his picture-perfect American dream shattered after footage of Byron wrapping his arms tightly around Kristin Cabot, the 52-year-old HR director of the astronomer’s company, went viral worldwide. He has since resigned.
The Daily Mail interviewed locals in the Maine area where Megan is staying—some called it “disgusting,” while others requested privacy. Family members were seen coming and going from the four-bedroom, four-bathroom, 4,169-square-foot (approximately 420-square-meter) home over the weekend (photos).
The two colleagues were caught red-faced on the “Kiss Cam” at Coldplay’s Boston, Massachusetts, concert on July 16, immediately ducking and turning away in a desperate attempt to hide from the jumbotron.
The band’s lead singer, Chris Martin, didn’t help matters, joking with the crowd at the stadium: “Either they’re having an affair… or they’re just really shy.”
While Byron’s wife remains holed up in Maine, grappling with this apparent affair, a fundraiser—less than a mile away—for the Kennebunk Beach Improvement Association poked fun at the viral moment.
While auctioning an experience for $13,000, the host quipped: “Another guy thinking he’s going to Coldplay—as long as you don’t get caught,” prompting applause and laughter.
While some locals found the joke amusing, some neighbors called Byron’s actions “disgusting” but told the Daily Mail the family deserved “privacy protection” as they navigate their issues.
“Everyone saw it, but the family doesn’t want it brought up,” an angry local told the Daily Mail before asking us to leave the upscale street near the Webhannet Golf Club.
The four-bedroom, four-bathroom, 4,169-square-foot home saw family members coming and going over the weekend, though it’s unclear if Byron himself visited to speak with his wife after the incident.
Neither he nor Cabot have been seen since the event, though the astronomer’s company confirmed both were placed on leave before Byron resigned.
When caught cozying up on the kiss cam, the pair quickly ducked and moved away, trying to shield their faces from the giant screen.
This news comes after the Daily Mail revealed that Cabot is also married to another CEO, Andrew Cabot, the chief executive of Privateer Rum, a Massachusetts-based beverage company.
It’s unclear exactly when the couple married, but records confirm that Kristin, whose maiden name is Stanek, was married at the time of selling a $1.8 million property in Watertown, Massachusetts, earlier this year.
Privateer Rum’s website lists Andrew Cabot as the CEO and COO of the company, and public records show he was married at least twice before, in 1993 and 2014.
The Cabot family descends from one of Boston’s Brahmin aristocracy, dating back to early English settlers.
Its legacy began with Andrew Cabot, a successful merchant and rum distiller, prominent during the American Revolution, who died in 1791.
Over generations, the family amassed an estimated $15.4 billion fortune, remaining untouchable in Boston society—until John F. Kennedy rose to political power.
In 1952, JFK defeated Henry Cabot Lodge Jr. in a Senate race, marking a pivotal shift that elevated the Kennedy family to American royalty.
Andrew has two children with his first wife, Maud, who shared a photo of her ex-husband and Kristin looking affectionate at their daughter’s 25th birthday party on social media in April last year.
When Kristin (right) joined as head of HR in November 2024, Andy (center-left) praised her as “the perfect fit” for the company.
But the American dream quickly turned into a nightmare for the astronomer and the families involved last week.
The billion-dollar company announced the CEO’s resignation in a statement on Saturday.
“As previously stated, Astronomer is committed to upholding the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard for conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” the statement said.
“Andy Byron has submitted his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted it.”
Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete Dejoy will remain as interim CEO.
The astronomer acknowledged the predicament in Byron’s resignation statement.
The statement read: “Earlier this week, we were recognized as pioneers in the DataOps field, enabling data teams to support everything from modern analytics to production output.
While our company’s perception changed overnight, the products and services we deliver to customers have not. We continue to do what we do best: help customers solve their toughest data and AI challenges.”
Just a week before his unfortunate fame, Byron appeared on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) channel to celebrate the company raising $93 million in a Series D funding round.
Beaming, Byron described the investment as “a tremendous opportunity” and “very exciting” for the company.
When Cabot joined the company as head of HR in November 2024, Byron praised her, saying she would be “the perfect fit” for his company.
He said in a press release at the time: “Kristin’s exceptional leadership and extensive experience in talent management, employee engagement, and scaling HR strategies will be critical as we continue to grow rapidly.
She is a proven leader at several growth-stage companies, and her passion for fostering a diverse, collaborative workplace makes her the perfect fit for an astronomer.”
