Rachel Zegler is celebrating her Evita castmates — including one special shout-out.
On her Instagram Stories on Monday, Aug. 25, the 24-year-old actress praised understudy Bella Brown on the occasion of her last scheduled show, taking over the role of Eva Perón for Zegler on the West End.
Sharing the lead role in the London Palladium’s Jamie Lloyd-directed revival of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Zegler said the experience “has been the most wonderful experience of my life and i just love her so much. beyond proud of everything you’ve accomplished on this job, my sweet @bellaelupiabrown – get out there and smash it one last (scheduled) time.”
The Golden Globe winner added that audiences at the show should “give her the biggest round of applause! she certainly deserves it.”
Zegler also saved praise for another member of the Evita cast: dancer Nathan Louis-Fernand, with whom she’s been romantically linked since July. Over an image of Louis-Fernand and herself seated at a table, posing coolly for the camera together, the West Side Story star wrote, “and you get to see @nathanlfernand tonight?!? palladium audiences you are so so so so lucky.”
Zegler concluded the series of Instagram posts by adding three hearts and calling her boyfriend “the best of the best.”
In July, Brown made headlines for stepping in for a sick Zegler midway through a performance of the show. After playing Perón’s Mistress in the musical’s first act, she took over as Eva, kicking off Act 2 with Lloyd Webber and lyricist/book writer Tim Rice’s famous “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” — in this production, performed outside the theater onto the London street and captured on video.
“Today really showed just how important swings and covers are within this industry,” the understudy wrote on social media afterward.
Zegler met Louis-Fernand during Evita rehearsals in May and formed an “instant connection,” a source told PEOPLE last month. She and the Magic Mike Live and Hamilton performer have been spotted out and about in London and at a Sabrina Carpenter concert this summer.
Evita is now playing at the London Palladium. Following her leading Snow White earlier this year, Zegler has among her upcoming projects the comedy-drama film She Gets It from Me with Marisa Tomei.
