Kelly Clarkson’s Mini-Me Daughter River, 10, Steals the Spotlight on Her Talk Show

Kelly Clarkson’s adorable 10-year-old daughter River Rose was all grown up while playing producer for the day during The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s April 2 episode (and mom couldn’t have been prouder).

Kelly Clarkson celebrated Take Your Child to Work Day early this year by featuring daughter River Rose on the April 2 broadcast of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

“My daughter is here today,” the American Idol winner announced at the top of the broadcast before noting the 10-year-old was shadowing showrunner Alex Duda for the day. “Oh my God! You have a mic and everything! You’re so fancy! Oh my God. I love it. You’re like a little mini producer.”

Kelly—who also shares 8-year-old son Remington “Remy” Alexander with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock—also noted River attended “all the meetings this morning like an adult. She’s very professional.”

River even dressed the part and rocked a headset and clipboard for the guest-producing gig.

And while Kelly was interviewing Whitney Cummings during the episode, the comedian couldn’t help but tell a behind-the-scenes story to embarrass the “Since U Been Gone” singer.

“I was interrogating River earlier,” Whitney shared. “I said, ‘What is the thing that annoys your mom the most?'”

And Kelly was spot-on with her guess of, “Is it when she calls me ‘Kelly’?!”

River then adorably directed her mom to go to commercial.

“I thought she said, ‘Mommy needs a break,'” the 42-year-old reacted with a laugh. “And I thought , ‘That is so kind.’ But no, she’s telling me that I need to go to break.”

“I got a leader,” Kelly added. “She’s gonna rule the world one day, y’all. Alright, y’all, we need a quick break apparently.”

River’s scene-stealing talk show appearance comes three months after both she and Remy sat down with their mom on the Jan. 8 episode to discuss Remy’s viral performance of Frank Sinatra‘s “My Way” on the daytime series.

Meanwhile, Kelly recently got candid about her kids giving her a hard time for missing daytime school events because of her weekday work schedule.

“Why do schools have things in the middle of the f–king day?” she lamented to Kylie Kelce during a March 25 episode of Not Gonna Lie. “They’re like, ‘Oh your daughter has a performance,’ and I’m like ‘Cool, I get to be the a–hole because you decided that it would be a real opportune moment at 10 a.m. on a Thursday—when we’re out here hustling.’”

“‘Do you think I just leave and sit in the park all day?’” Kelly added, mimicking what she asks her kids. “Mommy does work, that’s okay. Women and men work, it’s okay.”
