A New Player Enters: The Boys Casts a Mysterious Supe for Its Last Season & Vought Origins!

Antony Starr as Homelander in The Boys Season 4

The Boys Season 5 may be the last time audiences will see the anti-Supes task force, but that doesn’t mean the mature-rated universe will be ending anytime soon. After the fifth and final season, Vought Rising tells the story behind the infamous company’s foundation, starring Aya Cash and Jensen Ackles, reprising their roles as Stormfront and Soldier Boy, respectively. They won’t be alone, however, as a new Supe has been cast in the fifth and final season of The Boys, as well as its Vought-centric spinoff.

Entertainment Weekly exclusively reports that Mason Dye, who previously appeared in Stranger Things, has been added to The Boys universe as Bombsight. The character is the third-oldest active Supe, just behind Stormfront and Soldier Boy, who started their careers in the 1950s. Although Dye is reportedly only a guest star in The Boys Season 5, he will have a recurring role in the prequel Vought Rising. His powers are not clear, but the character was previously teased on a poster for Vought’s first ever superhero movie called “Bombsight in The Curse of Fu Manchu.” If we had to guess, his superhero abilities are bomb-related.

In addition to Stranger Things, Dye has been in episodes of Teen WolfBosch, and The Goldbergs. The actor has made his name on television, but The Boys and its spinoff will likely be his biggest role yet. After playing the recurring antagonist Jason Carver on the hit Netflix show and dying in the fourth season, Dye lines up his next role in Amazon’s mature superhero universe. Let’s just hope he plays a more likable character in The Boys, though it’s doubtful at this point for obvious reasons.

The Boys Prequel Spinoff is on the Way

Black Noir and The Deep ready to fight in The Boys

Get ready to take a trip to the 1950s, when Vought International was just finding its footing in the world and the secret Nazi Stormfront was just beginning her superhero career. When Vought Rising was first announced at San Diego Comic-Conseries star Aya Cash stated, I am so excited about working with Jensen. I think this thing is going to be incredible.” The Boys prequel star recently gave an update on Vought Rising, revealing that development is going well on the upcoming series.

“But I am so excited to go back and work with those people again. And I’ve read some scripts, and they’re really good. “

Of course, Vought Rising is not the only The Boys spinoff in the works. The second season of Gen V is currently filming, after production was paused when series star Chance Perdomo tragically passed away earlier this year. The critically-acclaimed superhero romp will cover the events prior to the final season of its parent show. Meanwhile, The Boys: Mexico starring Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal is still in development. The future of The Boys before and after its final season is set in stone. It’s just a matter of time until fans get more of their favorite mature-rated superhero universe.
