Fox News Channelâs debut of The Will Cain Show secured 3.5 million viewers on Tuesday, making it the highest-rated daytime show debut in network history, the broadcaster announced.
Weekend host Will Cain was promoted to the weekday afternoon slot vacated by longtime personality Neil Cavuto, who left the network last month.
One delighted viewer said on X: âMy new favorite show!â
Cain, who turns 50 in March, shared his âmissionâ for the show, saying he believed it would be an âevolution.â
Speaking to viewers about his debut, the Texan reflected: âItâs a process; itâs a ride. Iâm super-grateful to have this show.
âAnd incredibly grateful to be able to do it from Americaâs heartland.
But I can only make you one promise, and that is that Iâm going to be real.
âIâm going to be authentic and Iâm going to seek the truth.
âI donât believe I sit behind a desk and speak from high on the mountain and my word is the word of God, just because I have a microphone.
âInstead, I will go through that process, with you, curiously, honestly, of seeking the truth.â
He then discussed viewersâ comments on his show.
Jimmy Johnson proposes never-before-seen head coach move on Fox NFL Sunday involving âstaleâ Cowboys and Steelers
One told him: âLove it, way to go Will. Hope you add a sports segment once in a while even if at the end of a Friday.â
He replied: âI think you can probably count on that.â
Another woman said on X: âSo proud of our northeast Texas talent. Congratulations to my fellow Texan.â
He thanked her as a âproud Texan.â
Another wrote on Instagram: âI love the look of the show, Will did a great job and deserves his own show. Will miss him on weekends but love the new show.â
He replied that ânothing is fakeâ on the set behind him, as he held up his microphone.
However, it turns out that not everyone is a fan of that mic.
When Cain asked the team on The Five on Fox News for their thoughts on his show, he was told to get rid of it.
MICROPHONE UNPOPULAR
Greg Gutfeld joked: âI donât like the microphone, I donât understand it. What town is [showing] in the background? And the graphics package, theyâve got to go back to work!â
One viewer commented on social media: âLike the new show but hate the microphone in the shot. Itâs not a radio show. Good luck Will!â
Another wrote: âWill⊠gonna miss you on the weekends, but love this. Great move by Fox.â
And one fan also honed in on the mic on Facebook: âThe microphone. Kinda cool, but not yet decided. Stop looking to the right â itâs where the mic lives. Youâre gonna do great. Keep it up bubba, think of you like one of my sons.â
Another said: âLove the show and you! I will be watching every day! Congratulations.â
