Marvel fans claim Channing Tatum’s Gambit stole the spotlight from Dafne Keen’s MCU debut in Deadpool & Wolverine.

If Marvel fans could indulge in a cinematic treat as tantalizing as chocolate, this year’s superhero blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine, would be the ultimate indulgence for them. Bringing the iconic pairing of the fourth-wall-breaking, talks-too-much mutant Deadpool and the brooding claw-wielding Wolverine together for the first time, the film is no less than a movie equivalent of the world’s favorite dessert.

However, one actor singlehandedly stole the spotlight: Channing Tatum.

Starring as the Cajun mutant with the power to wield kinetic energy, Tatum’s Gambit has been a long time coming. Attached to the role since 2006, at one point he was also slated to appear in his own standalone movie, the plans of which went down the drain when Disney acquired Fox in 2019.

Such was Tatum’s portrayal that he even ended up overshadowing Dafne Keen‘s X-23 cameo. Reprising her role from one of the best superhero movies of all time, Logan, Keen was just as brilliant as she was close to a decade ago and shared one of the most emotionally touching scenes of the film with her character’s surrogate father, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
