The infamous conflict between Taylor Swift and music executive Scooter Braun is getting a deep dive in a new docuseries. In 2019, Braun‘s company, Ithaca Holdings, purchased Swift‘s former label, gaining control over the masters of her first six albums.

This acquisition sparked a public dispute that took the internet by storm and reignited debates about music ownership. The Discovery Plus docuseries, Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood, aims to thoroughly explore this controversy.

The series will present the perspectives of both parties. Swift has claimed that her masters were sold without her knowledge and without giving her a chance to purchase them herself.

Braun, however, argues that his attempts to negotiate with Swift were turned down and that Swift chose to rally her fans against him. The docuseries will feature insights from legal experts, journalists, and individuals close to both Swift and Braun, providing a comprehensive look at the legal and personal battles involved.

“I think a lot of things got lost in translation,” Braun said at the time.

“I think that when you have a conflict with someone, it’s very hard to resolve it if you’re not willing to have a conversation.

“So the regret I have there is that I made the assumption that everyone, once the deal was done, was going to have a conversation with me, see my intent, see my character and say, great, let’s be in business together. And I made that assumption with people that I didn’t know.”

Taylor Swift has completed four of her six planned re-recordings, releasing Taylor’s Version of Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and 1989 over the past three years.
