Sweet Magnolias is the most loved show on Netflix and here’s why

An adult animated series and a new Spanish dramedy are also among the shows trending across streaming services like Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and Max.

“Sweet Magnolias” is currently the most popular show on Netflix, according to the platform’s public ranking system.

The fourth season of the romantic drama premiered on Feb. 6 with the simultaneous release of all 10 new episodes. Based on the series of novels by the same name, “Sweet Magnolias” follows three best friends in South Carolina as they navigate relationships, work and other challenges together.

JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott and Heather Headley play the protagonist trio, with Logan Allen, Anneliese Judge, Carson Rowland and Jamie Lynn Spears in supporting roles.

“Invincible”

The adult animated superhero series “Invincible” is trending on Amazon Prime Video following the premiere of the third season on Feb. 6.

Based on a comic book series, the show tells the story of a teenager who transforms into a superhero. Actors Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh and J.K. Simmons voice the main characters ― with additional appearances by Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Seth Rogan and other stars.

“Scamanda”

One of the most popular shows on Hulu right now is the new docuseries “Scamanda,” which is an adaptation of the popular podcast of the same name.

Hosted by the podcast’s creator Charlie Webster, the four-part series focuses on convicted scammer Amanda Riley, who faked a cancer diagnosis for money. The first episode dropped on Jan. 30, with new installments out on Thursdays.

“The Takedown: American Aryans”

“The Takedown: American Aryans” is one of the top shows on Max at the moment.

The four-part docuseries explores the rise and takedown of a violent white supremacist gang in Texas through a sting operation. Each installment is 43 minutes long.

“Love You to Death”

The new Spanish dramedy “Love You to Death” premiered on Apple TV+ on Feb. 3, with the release of the first two episodes.

Titled “A muerte” in the original Spanish version, the series follows a young man recently diagnosed with cancer who reconnects with a newly pregnant childhood friend. New episodes drop on Wednesdays.
