The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is the sixth spinoff of the main series which continues the stories of Rick and Michonne.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is the highly anticipated sixth spinoff within TWDU. The series was recently released on Netflix as part of the partnership between the streamer and AMC Networks. In this spinoff, many new actors joined The Walking Dead universe (TWDU), including Matthew Jeffers, who portrayed Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) ally, Nat.

Jeffers stole every scene he was in with this no-nonsense approach to life in an apocalypse, and many fans believed him to be one of the best new characters in TWDU. Nat was a highly intelligent individual whose stepfather helped him channel his destructive tendencies by encouraging him to build gadgets. His knack for creating useful gadgets proved vital in the apocalypse. It was revealed that he is the one who created Michonne’s kick-ass new armor.
After the death of several of their friends, Nat and Michonne’s bond becomes stronger. He eventually convinces her that she can return home to her children while still believing Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is out there trying to make his way back to her. On their way back to Alexandria, they spot a helicopter and bring it down with screamsticks, one of Nat’s inventions.

Nat watches in surprise as Michonne and Rick have their blessed reunion. Sadly, Nat is shot and doesn’t survive. He was a vital part of Michonne’s story, even though he was only with her for a short time.
What else does Matthew Jeffers star in?
Jeffers is well known for his role on the NBC medical drama New Amsterdam, which also stars Walking Dead universe actresses Margot Bingham (Max on TWD) and Poppy Liu (Amy on Tales of TWD). Jeffers debuted as Dr. Mark Walsh in 2018 and continued the role for seasons 1-5 of New Amsterdam.
Another fun fact about Jeffers is that he appeared in Richard III with Danai Gurira in Free Shakespeare in the Park at The Delacorte Theater in 2022. The production was part of the 60th Anniversary season for the venue.
Jeffers portrayed Russell in three episodes of Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Peter in Unidentified Objects. He is also known for his roles in The Blacklist, Exit Interview, FBI and more.
