If you’re a fan of zombies, I’m sure at some point you’ve heard of The Walking Dead. From its ever-evolving list of characters to its heartbreaking deaths, The Walking Dead has cemented itself in history as one of the leaders in primetime zombie drama.

But the world of TWD has grown, and now spinoffs are happening, because of course they are.

If you’re like me and you’re looking for the next best thing that TWD world has to offer, these are all the upcoming The Walking Dead TV shows and movies, including those that are going to be a part of the 2025 TV schedule.

The Walking Dead: Dead City premiered on June 18th, 2023. It followed the story of Maggie and Negan traveling to New York City in order to get back her kidnapped son.

Season 2 for the series is happening very soon as of updating this in January 2025. In fact, a teaser was released in October 2024 on YouTube showing an idea of what we’re going to get into with the next part of Negan and Maggie’s story. Check it out below:

This teaser also confirmed that Season 2 will be coming out in Spring 2025. We don’t have an exact date yet, but we at least know it’ll be this year. With that teaser, we also got a logline as well from AMC, where it says that Maggie and Negan are now on opposite sides of a war and their paths intertwine again back in Manhattan.

Deadline confirmed that Kim Coates joined the second season as a new cast member, and there have been a few other additions to the Dead City cast as well that you can check out in our cast list. Jeffrey Dean Morgan even confirmed at 2024’s San Diego Comic-Con that Lucille (Negan’s bat named after his wife) was back for Season 2(via Variety):

I know, I was really excited too…there’s something about that sweet girl that I love… It makes me turn into Negan.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 – TBA 2025

Two seasons of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon have come and gone, and honestly Season 2 – titled The Book of Carol – was even crazier than the last, and featured an even bigger The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon cast.

And, while I enjoyed Daryl Dixon Season 2 just as much as the next person, it got me thinking about the next season. Thankfully, we already know plenty about the next chapter in Daryl and Carol’s story. In fact, there’s already a teaser that was released, stating that Season 3 is set to release at some point in 2025. Check it out below:

According to The Hollywood Reporter in November 2024, filming was already underway in Spain, and since there’s already a teaser, I would not be surprised if we got another update very soon – also, how the heck did they end up in Spain? These two are going to go on a European vacation by the end of this show.

AMC gave us an idea of what to expect in Season 3, saying that it will follow Daryl and Carol as they try to find a way back home after they let Laurent take off with Ash to escape France. Now, they must try to survive and figure out how to see their loved ones again in a world that is completely unfamiliar to them. Okay, so can Season 3 get here already?

Completed The Walking Dead Projects

You know, as someone who has watched this show since the beginning, it’s strange to think of it coming to an end after I’ve had so many memories and made friends just from watching this series. After eleven seasons, The Walking Dead came to an end, reaching its emotional finale on November 20th, 2022.

While it was upsetting to say goodbye to several characters that I’ll never see again, I know that this isn’t the end, because of all these spinoffs that are happening, so I’ll mark this down as a “see you soon” for some of my favorite characters. Now, I can happily rank all the seasons from worst to best.

Also completed are Fear The Walking Deadwhich ended in November 2023, The Walking Dead: World Beyonda two-season spinoff show that adds a lot of background information to the worldand The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, a miniseries about Rick and Michonne. If you want to check out all three shows, here’s how:

As a fan of The Walking Dead, I am excited to see what new stories the creators and actors plan on bringing to the world of walkers that I’ve grown up on. I’m also slightly nervous, because the last thing I want is to have too many stories all at once to keep track of.

Regardless, whenever these shows are released, I’ll be sitting in my seat with some popcorn, waiting to watch. I think 2025 is going to be a heck of a year.
