Taylor Swift has found a new channel in which she can address her fans through in Travis Kelce’s football-oriented podcast, New Heights. With the musician’s Super Bowl champion boyfriend speaking candidly on the episodic broadcast, Swift fans have quickly jumped at the opportunity to get further exclusive intel into the life of their favourite pop star. (Case in point: Kelce talking about their recent trip to Sydney as part of Swift’s Eras Tour, or how she managed to race against time and fly from Tokyo to Las Vegas for the NFL final.)
However, it seems that Kelce might have let his nonchalant approach to sharing information get the better of him, with his brother and co-host Jason Kelce issuing him with a stern warning after revealing some pretty telling insight about their current relationship status. During the most recent release, the Kelces were discussing a basketball player when the Kansas City Chiefs took a right turn and began sharing his wishes for a baby and a diamond ring. Kelce was never explicitly clear on what he was discussing, but the allude to his desire for a nuclear family was enough to send Swift fans into orbit.
“You can’t tell me that [Victor Wembanyama] wasn’t made in a f****** lab over there in France,” he said in reference to the 7’4” NBA athlete before adding, “Lab-grown diamonds, that’s a lab-grown f****** NBA player.” “Can’t wait ’til I f****** make one,” he added, though it wasn’t obvious if he was referring to a diamond or a genetically-engineered superhuman athlete.
His older brother quickly jumped in without missing a beat to shut down his train of thought. “Don’t do this,” the former Philadelphia Eagles centre warned. “Do not give any of these other conspiracy theorists anything else to latch onto, please,” he added. In the words of Swift herself, look what you made Travis do!
After a whirlwind beginning to the year for Traylor, the pair were recently spotted on a tropical vacation together, taking some time away from their busy schedule. Earlier this month, an insider spoke to the press to give a much-needed update on their relationship status. “They’re still very happy,” the source said. “They’re so cute together.”
As for Kelce’s hunt for a lab-grown diamond, it’s apparent the search could potentially prove futile given Swift confirmed how she felt about engagements in her singles “Paper Rings” off Lover, “Champagne Problems” off Evermore and “You’re Losing Me” off Midnights. As Swift said: “I like shiny things, but I’d marry you with paper rings”.
