Hilarie Burton and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, known for their roles on One Tree Hill and The Walking Dead, recently opened up about how they feel working together.

The couple, who met in 2009 and got married in 2019, have worked together on shows like The Walking Dead, Extant, and Friday Night In With the Morgans.

Now, they are the producers of the campy horror film Bloody Axe Wound.

While having a conversation with People magazine to promote their film Bloody Axe Wound, Morgan reflected on his working relationship with his wife, saying, “We’re good at it. We don’t actually want to kill each other or anything.”

On the other hand, Burton sang praises of how they balance one another out by quipping, “His strengths are my weaknesses, and vice versa.”

She went on to joke that when they are alone at work, “it’s almost like a date.”

For the unversed, under their production company, Mischief Farm Production Company (named after their farm in upstate New York), they focus on projects with “a sense of humour that were maybe a little bit gross,” and Bloody Axe Wound is one of those projects.

The movie is a coming-of-age queer romance slasher that follows a teenager, Abbie Bladecut (Sari Arambulo), as she struggles with deciding whether to follow her father Roger’s (Billy Burke) violent path and dealing with the excitement of her first crush.

It is pertinent to mention that Bloody Axe Wound has hit theatres across the United States on December 27, 2024.
