Lincoln is best known for his role as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead.

British actor Andrew Lincoln is known and loved for his portrayal of AMC’s long-running apocalyptic series The Walking Dead and its spinoff The Ones Who Live. Fans eagerly await news of Rick’s return to another spinoff but as of today, nothing has been announced. One exciting bit of news is that Lincoln has secured his next role in an ITV thriller, Cold Water.
In June 2024, it was reported that Lincoln had been announced to appear in Cold Water, a story written by award-winning David Ireland, known for the Sky series The Lovers and his role in Channel 4’s hilarious comedy Derry Girls. Lincoln will serve as an executive producer for the series and star, as he did in The Ones Who Live. Lee Haven Jones (Passenger, Ruth, Doctor Who) will direct the first three episodes.
The Hollywood Reporter shared a first-look image of Lincoln in his role as a secretly raging stay-at-home dad, John, a man dissatisfied with his life, who moves his family from London to the Scottish village Coldwater. Much to his wife Fiona’s (Indira Varma) dismay, John befriends a charming neighbor, Tommy (Even Bremner), devoted husband to the local vicar Rebecca (Eve Myles).
Outwardly, Tommy is an upstanding citizen, devoted husband, man of faith, and self-appointed leader of the local men’s book club. Despite all that, Fiona is suspicious of Tommy, believing he isn’t all he appears to be. When John’s rage, which he has been able to hold in check, rears its head, the disastrous outcome results in him indebted to Tommy, who is holding on to his own secrets.
Cold Water is produced by Sister, known for Erick Chernobyl, and Black Doves, and the six-part thriller will premiere in the fall of 2025 on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
According to ITV: This is the story of a normal man, in a normal marriage, who finds himself in a far from normal situation. A man who discovers a newfound sense of his own power, right at the moment he falls under the influence of someone incredibly dangerous.
