The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is the sixth spinoff of AMC’s wildly popular post-apocalyptic series The Walking Dead. The limited series featured the return of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira in reprisals of their roles as Rick and Michonne.

The series debuted on AMC and AMC+ in Feb. 2024 and was created by showrunner Scott M. Gimple with Lincoln and Gurira. The six-part series wasted no time reuniting the couple, the event viewers longed to see.

The Walking Dead socials asked fans what their favorite scenes from the series were, and below is a recap.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live

Of course, the reunion is a favorite of the majority of people who watched the series. Rick departed the main series in season 9 and Michonne in season 10. Fans didn’t like the open ended conclusion of these characters stories, believing they deserved better.

The other huge highlight of the series was Rick’s reunion with Judith (Cailey Fleming) and meeting his son RJ (Antony Azor) for the first time. It was an emotional scene that felt like the perfect end to this part of the Grimes family’s story.

The final showdown with Major General Beale (Terry O’Quinn) was another fan favorite moment. Rick, after receiving the Echelon Briefing, the classified information high ranking CRM officials receive, overpowers Beale and stabs him with his own sword.

Rick cutting off his own hand is another moment fans won’t soon forget. The scene revealed how desperate Rick had become in trying to find a way out of the CRM and back to his family.

While many viewers believed that Rick and Michonne were already married, they were proven wrong with Rick’s sweet proposal. The episode revealed that Rick had plans to marry Michonne on the bridge as it was a symbol of the future. The explosion put a stop to his plans, but their reunion allowed him to finally propose to and marry his love.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is currently streaming on AMC+. On Jan. 13, 2025 the series will be available to stream on Netflix.
