Travis Kelce had a run-in with Christian McCaffrey and his fiancée Olivia Culpo just weeks after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end defeated the San Francisco 49ers running back at the 2024 Super Bowl.
Kelce, 34, was photographed arriving at the same time as the couple at Nobu Malibu on Wednesday, according to photos obtained by Page Six.
The “New Heights” podcast co-host was riding solo while his girlfriend Taylor Swift, 34, is in prep mode for the Singapore leg of her Eras Tour this weekend.
Kelce arrived at the buzzy restaurant at around 8 p.m. before McCaffrey and the former Miss USA arrived, TMZ reported.
Culpo, 31, and her fiancé, 27, were apparently attending a star-studded event for Dolce Glow tanning company where other guests included the influencer’s two sisters — Sophia Culpo, 27, and Aurora Culpo, 34— as well as stars like Becky G and Chrissy Teigen.
It’s unclear if Kelce was involved in the festivities.
Kelce, who was casual in a white long-sleeve Chrome Hearts shirt, seemingly attempted to avoid the paparazzi by shielding his face under a black baseball cap. He also wore gray pants and black-and-white Adidas sneakers.
McCaffrey wore a plain navy crewneck T-shirt while Olivia stunned in a white oversized blazer layered over a black turtleneck sweater tucked into belted blue jeans.
She also accessorized with big gold statement earrings and was seen greeting her equally as stylish sisters outside of the venue.
At around midnight, the couple reportedly exited the venue through the front entrance while Kelce opted to sneak out through the kitchen’s back entrance. While the athletes left the event at the same time, they got into separate cars and drove off.
The NFL players have only crossed paths a few times before their face-off earlier this month.
“Fun Travis Kelce Story. I’ve met him twice. One was in passing over the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. Just like a, ‘Hey, what’s up, man?’ The other, I was in New York,” McCaffrey shared on the “B Scar TV Podcast” last November.
“I was picking out Olivia’s [Culpo] ring. I was in New York by myself. I’d taken the train from Rhode Island to New York,” McCaffrey continued. “So, I get off at Grand Central Station. I’m sitting on the corner right there.”
While waiting for a cab, McCaffrey hears someone shouting “C-Mac! C-Mac!” and he looks up to see it’s Kelce driving by in the backseat of a black car yelling at him through the window.
“And that was it. That was the only other time I’ve ever met him. Ever since then, I’m like, ‘That’s the coolest guy ever,’” he said. “I knew him as much as someone I’d only met once. So much energy out of the window, I was like, ‘I f—king love that guy.’ Great energy. Authentic, that’s who he is.”
McCaffrey proposed to Culpo in April 2023 after nearly four years together.
Meanwhile, Kelce started dating Swift last July and is allegedly planning to propose this summer.
