A fantasy drama, The Witcher is a series inspired by the books, The Last Wish, Sword of Destiny, and Blood of Elves authored by Andrzej Sapkowski. Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, audiences can watch the series on Netflix.

The series takes place in the fictitious medieval landmass called the Continent. The series shows the lives of Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Princess Ciri and how they intertwine over time.

Little does Geralt of Rivia know that his and Princess Ciri’s paths are destined to cross as he has unknowingly won her as a reward through “the Law of Surprise”. Once their paths cross, Geralt of Rivia is determined to protect Princess Ciri from evil forces.

The show has been renewed for a fourth and the final fifth season. Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, and Eamon Farren will continue in season 4. Along with Henry Cavill, Kim Bodnia will be leaving the series.

The Witcher Season 4 cast

1) Liam Hemsworth

Liam Hemsworth will step into the role of Geralt of Rivia after the departure of Henry Cavill from the series, who previously played the role.

The Geralt of Rivia is a magically empowered monster hunter. Liam Hemsworth is known for his work in Neighbours, The Last Song, The Hunger Games series, and Isn’t It Romantic.

2) Anya Chalotra

Anya Chalotra plays the role of Yennefer of Vengerberg who is a quarter-elf sorceress. Anya Chalotra has previously worked in Sherwood and Twilight of the Gods. She is slated to return as Yennefer of Vengerberg in the upcoming film, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.

3) Freya Allan

Freya Allan plays the role of Ciri, Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon. She is known as Cintra’s crown princess.

She inherits the Elder Blood from mother Pavetta and grandmother Queen Calanthe and is destined to meet Geralt. Freya Allen is known for her roles in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and Into the Badlands.

4) Eamon Farren

Eamon Farren will play the role of Cahir Mawr Dyffryn aep Ceallach, who is also known as the Black Knight. A commander for the Nilfgaardian army, he spearheads the hunt for Ciri.

At the same time, he also spearheads the occupation of Cintra. Eamon Farren is known for his work in X: Night of Vengeance, Chained, Twin Peaks, Winchester, and The ABC Murders.

5) Joey Batey

Joey Batey plays the role of Jaskier, a nomadic performer who becomes friends with Geralt and goes along with him on his journey. Apart from being an actor, Joey Batey is also a musician who has sung songs in The Witcher. He will return to his role as Jaskier as a guest star for The Witcher: Blood Origin.

Who is leaving The Witcher Season 4?

1) Henry Cavill

In 2022, Henry Cavill announced that he would be leaving The Witcher. His announcement stated that Cavill would not return to play the role in future seasons as Geralt of Rivia.

Some have reported that Cavill left the series to free up some time. A British actor, Henry Cavill is known for his work in Superman, Enola Holmes, The Tudors, and Mission: Impossible- Fallout.

2) Kim Bodnia

In recent news, Redanian Intelligence reported that Kim Bodnia, who played the role of Geralt of Rivia’s mentor, Vesemir, will be leaving the series as well. Vesemir played an important role in Geralt’s life.

Kim Bodnia is an actor from Denmark known for his roles in Killing Eve, The Bridge, Young Woman and the Sea, Hostages, and the Indian film, Delhi Belly.
