Season 3 is finally here

The Witcher season 3 dropped on Netflix yesterday [29th June], and there’s one scene between Geralt and Yennifer that social media can’t stop talking about.

As the official synopsis of the third season of the fantasy show reads, “As monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it.

“Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.”

In one particular season three scene (spoilers, btw!), Geralt tells Yennefer he loves her, aloud, and fans can’t get over the romance of it all.

“Geralt saying I love you to Yennefer,” one fan wrote with crying emojis. “I’m so happy they lifted it straight from the book.” Others put, “They are so mum and dad coded. NO ONE TOUCH ME” and “The Witcher show doesn’t always do the books justice but at least i can say with confidence that the casting of Yennefer and Geralt were perfect.”

Others added: “Geralt & Yennefer omg” and “It needs to be said that when Yennefer and Geralt are on screen it creates magic. Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra are responsible for this. You can’t replicate this kind of chemistry #TheWitcher.”

The end of the season sees the pair going their separate ways, agreeing it is better for Ciri’s safety. “Just say this isn’t goodbye for good,” she tells him. “That there are more nights to come. That you will, in whatever form, think of me.”
