The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln is returning to the small screen as the star of a TV series. The casting also marks his return to British television.

In the series, Lincoln plays John, a father and husband who “ups and moves his family to the rural idyll of Coldwater, far away from London. Upon arrival, John is quickly befriended by his charming, confident next-door neighbor Tommy (Bremner), a devoted husband to the local vicar Rebecca (Myles). John’s wife Fiona (Varma) despises Tommy.”
The series is created by writer David Ireland (The Lovers, Ulster American, Cyprus Avenue). Ireland will also serve as an executive producer, while the seris is produced by Sister (Black Doves, Eric, Chernobyl). The first half of the season is directed by Lee Haven Jones (A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, Doctor Who), while the second half is helmed by Andrew Cumming (Shetland, Cold Feet).
Andrew Lincoln Returns to British TV
Lincoln is perhaps best known for playing Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead, the hit zombie drama that rose on AMC as one of television history’s most popular shows. While Lincoln left the series as a main star in its ninth season, he recently returned for the limited series spinoff, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Danai Gurira co-starred as Michonne, Rick’s partner. After leaving the original show, Lincoln starred in the movie Penguin Bloom and had a role in the anthology series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities.

Cold Water doesn’t yet have a premiere date.
