AMC and Netflix have partnered to bring a huge catalog of the network’s originals to the streamer.

The Walking Dead: Dead City premiered on AMC and AMC+ on June 18, 2023. This series was the first direct spinoff that featured familiar faces whose stories began in the flagship series. The storyline picked up with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) several years after the conclusion of the main series. Will the spinoff be added to Netflix in 2025?

In Aug. 2024, AMC announced an expansion of the deal to bring the network’s original content to Netflix. The streamer was already the host of The Walking Dead, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad, and on Aug. 19, the stream added a long list of additional titles to its catalog. This included Walking Dead favorites, Fear the Walking Dead (all eight seasons) and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (season 1).

The announcement also revealed that the first seasons of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live and The Walking Dead: Dead City would be added in Jan. 2025. Recently, Netflix rolled out the announcements for the releases for Jan. 2025, and for some reason, Dead City has been omitted in this round of releases.

If you check out the “& More” section of the Twitter/X post below, you can see on Jan. 13, The Ones Who Live is listed but not Dead City. If you head to Netflix.com and type in “Walking Dead” into the search, The Ones Who Live is featured, and you can set a reminder for its release date, but Dead City remains absent. I’ve searched for an announcement from AMC about why Dead  City has now been excluded from Netflix, but I can’t find an answer. Perhaps it will be released on the streamer at a later date.

Fans of The Walking Dead universe can see many of their favorite TWD series on Netflix. The list includes all eleven season of the main series, season 1 of Daryl Dixon, and all eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead. In Jan. 2025 the limited series, The Ones Who Live will be added.

Dead City will release its second season and AMC and AMC+ in Spring 2025, and Daryl Dixon will premeire its third season later in the year. The universe is ever-expanding, and there has been chatter about more spinoffs to come.
