The Voice USA Winner Sofronio Vasquez Finally Breaks Silence on the Shocking ‘Indonesian’ Controversy!

Sofronio Vasquez addresses 'Indonesian' issue after 'The Voice USA' victory

Sofronio Vasquez has addressed the issue of some netizens claiming he is Indonesian following his victory in “The Voice USA.”

On “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the Filipino singer had a gracious answer when Tito Boy asked him about the controversy.

“Nagugulat nga po ako Tito Boy kasi bigla akong naging Indonesian,” he said.

“But I’m super blessed and grateful na kumbaga, whether I am from Indonesia, it is a representation of being an Asian. Nilaban nila ako.”

Sofronio was part of Michael Bublé’s team in “The Voice USA.” He is the first Filipino and Asian to win the competition.

He arrived in the Philippines last week to celebrate his victory with his fellow kababayans.

So far, he has paid a courtesy call to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and guested on “It’s Showtime,” where he previously joined the segment Tawag ng Tanghalan.

Sofronio is set to hold his first solo concert on January 18 in Cebu City
